I seriously forgot the entire scene...thanks for posting the detailed version

But seriously
That scene was epic in sadness

It indeed is. The Darkness is just a magnificent game. A bit overlooked in my opinion, cause I never hear anyone saying they played it.

My brother's playing The Darkness right now, actually.

Can't seem to remember many, so here's some of mine:

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
A good chunk of Episode 8: Reincarnation. The anime version of it (Episode 11) was even more tragic, IMO.

Flonne's 'death'. It was pretty emotional before the final battle started. (And depending on the ending, even after. Like the worst ending by beating the Dark Assembly 100 times where Laharl simply walks away with the flower, or the Normal Ending, where Laharl gives his life to save Flonne.
Ace Combat 5:
Chopper's death. Man, he was a great character. It really sucked when he got shot down, with everyone trying to help him and what not.
Disgea 2 I don't really remeber what happened that much so no posts saying thats not what happened :badboy:
After Rozalin(as Zenon) kills the fake Zenon, Rozalin tells Adell that he was also her enemy, and then the battle ensues. After the battle, Adell accidentally killed Rozalin, Adell cries over the death of Rozalin and saying things like he was supposed to protect her, The soul of Zenon...Takes over Adell after the credits Adell Rips apart Hanako and Taro, the screen fades to black and you just here adell say "....I am a being of Solitude..." http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/Redfury509/Disgaea/Fan%20Art/Disgaea2_AdellZenon.png
Its fan-art I just put that there so that people could see what he might look like, I never got the ending My bro was talking to me about one day and I decided to youtube it, the only endings I got were the
super happy fun time ending, the Axel dark hero ending, and the Etna and Laharl ending by that I mean beating Etna getting her title, and for Laharl him blowing up the planet
would that count as a tragic moment to? okay then *spoiler

Mine also from Chrono Trigger
The entire ocean palace scene. Magus has spent his entire adult life trying to become strong enough to defeat Lavos, but he is nothing but an insect alone compared to Lavos, who trashes him and your entire party with extremely small effort. Chrono sacrifices himself in a bold attempt to stop Lavos from consuming the rest of his party and is utterly destroyed by the power of Lavos. Lavos then shoots down the entire Kingdom of Zeal, killing almost the entire population and causing tidal waves and cataclyms that leave the world almost completely destroyed. Schala uses the last of her magic to teleport your party to saftey, sacrificing herself in the process. There's an overwhelming sense that the entire quest to defeat Lavos has been in vain since he dispatched you so quickly, and Chrono is very dead and can actually stay dead until the end of the game.
Grandia II. Freaking Grandia II.
When you're looking for the Eyes of Valmar, you go to a town where the villagers are hating on a woman that they claim is a witch. Her daughter is a sickly little girl who only wants people to get along. You suspect that her mother is possessed by the Eyes of Valmar, when in reality...it's her DAUGHTER. You have to go into her mind to try and stop Valmar from completely taking over her, but even then, when Millenia tries to take the Eyes, she lets slip the fact that taking Valmar out of the girl will destroy her soul. And she just....does it.
I didn't cry, but it was still a low blow for me.

There's also the ending for Astro Boy: Omega Factor, for the GBA.
Long story short(er), you find out that Nuka, the girl Astro has a crush on, is a part of an anti-robotic super-weapon called Death Mask, which contains an element called Omotanium. Omotanium, by the way, can destroy robotic neurons. Astro fights the guy who's controlling it, but the Omotanium is released from Death Mask. It turns out, Omotanium is a living element, and it becomes the Devil Machine, Garon. Astro destroys him...but the Omotanium ends up falling into the Sun (don't ask how). Nuka, luckily, is still alive...sorta, as she's now a bunch of pieces of scrap metal. She tells Astro that she can control the Omotanium and stop it from making the Sun explode. Enter the last level of the game: The World's Greatest Adventure. It's a long level, where you can't attack. It's just you carrying a piece of Nuka to the sun, while trying not to get pummeled to death by the spare pieces of metal that are flying towards the Sun. Astro declares that he'll go anywhere with Nuka, and goes into the Sun with her. The Sun returns back to normal, and Astro and Nuka...die.

Everyone on Earth that Astro affected or met (which is, a whole lot of people) starts crying out for him. Phoenix then decides to reward Astro and Nuka for their efforts by bringing them back to life; Astro thus triumphantly carries Nuka back to Earth, while memories of everyone he met on Earth fly past him.

Afterwards, you see the silhouette of Dr. Tenma, the man who created Astro, as well as the father of the boy who inspired him. He's thinking about his son, and says something along the lines of:

"Do you see him, Tobio? It's Astro. He's leading us...Astro, you must become stronger. Surpass the limits that man cannot! You must go beyond science, religion, philosophy, poverty, hunger, and war...!"

It doesn't help that The World's Greatest Adventure has that song from Gunstar Heroes where Green dies playing.
Finally,
when Neifirst kills Nei in Phantasy Star II. Again, I didn't cry, but....why did the catgirl have to die?! Why didn't they kill Shir?! At least Shir is useless!
Every RPG ending makes me wanna cry, but the Suikoden ones are just devastating. When it begins to roll what happened to each character after the war man, that just kills me, I start missing those non-existing people.

Xenogears was also mindblowing to me, really emotional.

I'll think of more later, I gotta go to work.

The only notable one for me is Tales of Phantasia:
It turns out that Dhaos, the major villain, is an extraterrestrial, and his people are dying. So he comes to the world Phantasia's set on to find a Mana Seed, which will grow into a Mana Tree (mana being life energy) and save his people. But the heroes kill him at the end of the game, which totally ruins his race's chances of survival.
Lost Odyssey. I doubt most of you have played it. If you own an Xbox360 and you want a good old-fashioned JRPG, look into it.

The ending is sort of bittersweet. The main thing is A Thousand Years Of Dreams, which are purely text flashback/story scenes which you unlock throughout the course of the game. All of them are really emotional.

This one had me tearing up and everything. Play this in the background. Or this. Go on.

Fantastic game if I may add, Draggy. The Thousand Years of Dreams stories were very touching. I especially love:

Hanna's Departure
A Hero's Return
White Flowers
Bright Rain
The Story of Old Man Greo
Letters from a Weakling

Some made me teary eyes because the story + music is just brilliant.

Ah, another one from me. Link's Awakening
ALL A FREAKING DREAM. None of those awesome characters ever existed, including Marin, who was one of the best developed "Zelda girls" short of Midna. Ahhh they even went on a date to the beach and ran around the island and she encouraged me to attack chickens and break stuff. Alas for poor non-existent Marin. Link's Awakening was one of the first games with a story that I actually beat, and it was a really sad ending, so that probably left me scarred somehow.
