Saw Star Trek, the movie.

And I was very pleased despite not being a fan of the series.

Wayyyy better then "Starwars" and their emoiness. Anyone agrees or disagrees?

I saw it a couple days ago and really liked it. I never saw the original series or really cared to, but it's accessible to anybody. The characters aren't quite as lovable as the Serenity crew, but they're plenty likable.

I saw it. I felt it focused too much on Spock and Kirk, but other than that, it was pretty good. Also, I never saw the original series, so whoo.

The new Star Trek was, indeed, quite good. I generally don't like unoriginality but I do approve of the whole Batman Begins / Star Trek idea of restarting a series and doing it right this time. If movies are going to be of that quality, by all means, bring on more.

There are probably a dozen or more Star Wars quotes that you could say in casual conversation and people would immediately recognize as being from Star Wars. Not sure you could say that about too many other movies. A lot of it is pretty cheesy, but hey, it's all good fun.

Yeah those Star Wars movies sure were great. It's a shame they only made three.

The actors were terrible. I mean, I liked Anakin's whore (wife) but her role became less and less as the movies progressed. I loved Jar Jar for the comedy, but people bitched and he got taken out.
I barely payed attention unless Obi Won (sp?) was fighting.

They even tried again in the 3D world, and that movie was terrible. Anakin just became more and more uninteresting.
I never had a love for the Star Trek series, special effects make me happy. But the story line, characters & CG was done quite well. They had a large amount of good actors and I love Kirk!
