No really. Time is going waaay fast. Is it just me, or does it feel like it was last week that I turned 23 and am about to run into 24 T_T

I feel like a real old dude. So who else has notice how actually old you are?

Yes. I turned 21 in April and time has been flying. Feels like yesterday it was spring. I've also been working 40 hours a week all summer for the first time, so I think that's a huge factor.

Yeah. I'm 21, turning 22 in a few days. I don't consider this old, but it's still crazy to remember something that happened when I was in high school that seems like it was just yesterday and then realize that it's been 4 or 5 years since then.

I'm 21 and also turning 22... tomorrow. Whoo...

I look back and... seriously, I've done nothing. I feel like such a failure...
*sigh*

Well, at least, I have the 5 days younger lady above me to support me in my failness.
I've felt like my near 22 years of nothing might be worth something, after all.

Yeah, I'm in a very good mood. Lack of sleep does that to me, some times. And lack of someone...

I'm turning 14 in exactly a month. Wasn't I 9 or 10 when I first started here or something? While I'm nowhere near as old as you elderly people, time has been flying by for the past couple of years for me.

Yeah yeah yeah. I can't believe you're only 14. Not because you don't act like it, but because it takes a lot of effort to remember what it was like to be 14. I was a shitty kid until the end of high school.

You wanna know how old you are? The Matrix didn't come out last decade, but the one before it!

xkcd rocks!

Uh, yeah. I feel old as hell, especially when I think about my (2 year old) nephew.
Or the fact that my best friend is a father.

Weird **** like that.

I've wasted over two years on this place.

Let's see if I can go for two more!

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

So I turned 17 about three weeks ago, and I'm about to turn 22 in a little over a month.

What the fuck.

In other words, time passes quickly.
I always thought, in the present, time goes by quite slowly... but when you look back, you see how quick it went.

Ah good, so it wasn't just me.

Yeah, the other there was some talk about high school within my coworkers, and I was like "yeah that was in 2004!" Then I was like, that was 6 years ago. When I was 16.

It's horrible. It's not like I am really age-conscious, but it's like, damn.

I'm 28. That's closer to 30 than 25, and MUCH closer than 20. I'm mildly successful economically (I have a stable, well-paying job and significant savings) but not much of a life. Part of my problem is that I see everything as temporary - high school was temporary, college was temporary, my first job was temporary. And every time one part ended, I moved to a different city. Recently I've been moving to different states - I lived in 3 different states in 2010. Even though I have no reason to believe I'm going to quit or get fired any time soon, I still can't shake this vibe that it's all temporary and I shouldn't bother putting down roots like getting a gilfriend or a house or anything major. It's strange. Maybe I'm a nomad at heart.

My nostalgia helps me cope with getting older, since things I love are ageless. I fired up an N64 emulator last weekend and played Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for a little bit - still love those games. I watch Jurassic Park and the Matrix DVDs instead of any movie made in the last couple years, let alone decade. I read, but my favorite author - Isaac Asimov - has been dead for almost twenty years and wrote his best books in the 50s.

Some part of me wonders if I'm not really growing up. The other part of me realizes that "growing up" isn't really a thing. Like xkcd once said; I'm an adult, and it's my turn to decide what being an adult means. And if it means reading sci fi and playing video games instead of drinking terrible american beers and watching football, well, that's what makes me feel okay about things.

It's okay beer is pretty much disgusting in general. Spirits are the best.

I feel like I'm slowly moving away from being a socially awkward layabout and actually doing something with my life, to a limited extent. I actually leave the house (gasp) most weekends now for parties and ****, and I've actually got off of my arse and started looking for work. The end of high school is rapidly approaching and I kind of need to be able to be a functioning human being for when I have to actually support myself. 18 in less than a year, and that's when I actually need to start being somewhat productive.
