I got the Elemental Fury Shout.

The one that increases your attack speed.

Vastly.

I dual-wield axes.

I killed a dragon in 4 seconds.

I am level 15.

I only have the first word of the Shout.

God help us all.

Somebody had better make a better menu mod, pronto.
As soon as the modders sort out the issue of the game shitting a brick as soon as a newly compiled inventory swf file (the UI is made in flash, I have no idea why that seemed like a good idea) is put into the game, modders will be able to completely redo everything. Which is nice. Also, did you untick "Use Xbox 360 Controller" in the settings? Seems pretty innocuous but it fucks up heaps of stuff if it's on. Which it is by default.

Flash? Come on Bethsaida, you're better than that. Flash is not a good programming language or interface and should never be used in large commercial products. There's a reason it's dying out...

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Don't install it to your hard drive.
That breaks the textures, and makes the game look like ***.
Apparently.

I never install games on my Hard Drive. But thanks for the info. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll play Skyrim a bit so I can leave the first village.

Actually, if it's using Scaleform, the technology's fairly new (a lot of it is still undocumented and under development) and still gaining popularity among developers. From the short time I've played around with it, it seems like it's going to be pretty powerful. I thought it was only Epic who'd embraced it so far.

I completely ignored the setting for a while, and it reeally fucks a lot of stuff up. Somehow making it try to use a controller fucks up performance and makes menus even less functional than normal.

And like Drag said, it is using Scaleform, so it's pretty decent. A lot more potential for modding it, too, once programmers get over the issues with it. Here's a topic on it for anyone who cares. The guy who developed the UI chimes in on it;

I like Bethesda. Sometimes. Fallout was awesome.

Skyrim however is... not everything I expected. So far.

Having Played Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I've learned that it could be worse. Those games were basically broken in half if you had Xbox 360 Controller enabled, but no controller plugged in. Thankfully, that wasn't on my default.

I'm starting to get that fabled save file bloat/lag issue that the PS3 version has.

But wait, Gamebryo? I could have sworn there was a massive deal being made about how they were making their own in-house engine?

Did they name it "Gamebryo"?

Are you expecting guns and radioactivity? If yes, you might be disappointed.

Was expecting better graphics and less glitches.

By Bethesda's logic, Morrowind, Oblivions, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas all used different engines, if this one is different.
