Is it just me or does Aveyond: Lord of Twilight on steam (for 7,64€) seem to have been made with RPGMVX?

I haven't even touched my 3DS for months.

Sometimes I wonder if I didn't waste money on it.

Bought mine used last summer since then I probably put over 300 hours into it. Easily worth it.

It looks like it. Been seeing more and more rpg maker games poping up on stores and kickstarters.

Also Eschalon 3 is being released this Saturday, time to get hyped.

8.49 for this crap? The first text I read on the teaser trailer was something about a powerful orb being sealed away. -_-'

They didn't even use non-RTP chipsets... for shame.

Yeah that's what struck me as well. If you're gonna make a game with a maker and try to make profit of it (and demand like 7€) you should' at least done more than just drag and drop the stuff that came with it.

So Diddy Kong will return, I suppose that's not all too surprising. I'm more worried about characters like ROB and Game and Watch. Also, they don't seem to focus on a story this time like with Brawl who did their Kirby Adventure thingy.

Also on a sidenote, I realized that Steam have Septerra Core. Haven't gotten it yet 'cuz I'm a bit busy. But I loved that game to death back in 1999, I would lie if I said that it didn't influence my own "rpg universe". I just hope that it runs better on windows 7 than Dungeon Siege 1 (that's a game from 2002)

"That could DESTROY LIGHT!!!"

"With it, vampires could RULE THE WORLD!!!!!"

Powerful stuff right there.

:p

Having said that, at least Aveyond is something the makers believe in enough to market properly...  It is basically the pinnacle of what sites like us were trying to achieve; an actual sellable game...

I watched the trailer and read the comments and could not believe what I was looking at. The LOWEST score I saw was 8/10.

Septerra Core
Horrible, horrible game to play.
Amazing game to explore and watch.

A Septerra Core movie or anime would be the greatest thing. It's a legit good world setting. Its just a shame all the dungeons were boring as hell and the battles slow and similar.

Oh, right I remember this.

Let's recap. Yes, the setting is probably the most attractive thing about the game being sorta sci fi and all the other aspects that makes it unique, like the shells.

Yes, most dungeons are about unlocking locked doors with levers located in a different part so that you can pull the lever that leads to the next area. But then at the same time you have the "Adventure game" puzzles, like how you have your key items available to drag and drop on the overworld to interact with things. And sometimes you combine them. Kinda like a Monkey Island, only a bit more straight forward.
Also loved the fact that you could choose what to talk about when talking to the NPCs, and get certain characters to speak as well. Also the fact that the game had full voice overs.

And yes, the combat is pretty slow, still nothing compared to FFIX, but slow. But I still think that how they divided the ATB bar to get stronger / weaker attacks was a great idea. They also made mana a shared resource for all your characters and that was interesting. Oh, and the magic cards that you could combine to get other effects like Summon Bowman+Water+All that created a water summon to hit all enemies. But they also reused enemy graphics all the time, recolours and all, that's a shame. And lastly the positioning, most skills are affected by how the characters are placed in battle. Lasers his enemies standing in a line, grenades hit enemies around the target and so on. This is much like FFX-2 though in the sense that you can't change your own position which would aid the game greatly.
