Well, congrats on creating a tiny little goblin creature that resembles you.

Meanwhile, a mandatory mask order is in effect here starting Monday. Violators will be fined $1000, and I'm never leaving the house again I guess.

Grats Razor, stay safe.

I feel like a good thing about this is all old members returning and giving some updates on life.

Not me, I've been here the whole time and my life is basically the same (except for the part where I'm unable to go to work, but that's kind of common these days).

Thanks guys.
It's been a wild few years for me. All this time, Charas has been my home page. I've just been a little bad about popping in.
Whoops.

A month late, but SoCal is still in total lockdown. Our governor is probably going to hold us back until we're the last state to officially fully reopen.

Plus my annual Wasteland Weekend got canceled so I'm simultaneously sad, angry and waist deep in literal trash to upcycle. So I guess its a wash?

Update from here in Ontario, Canada. It seem to be under control, and we are currently in Phase 2 (dining only on patios with social distancing, limited numbers of people in stores at a time and only with face coverings, timed and distanced salon appointments). We're moving to Phase 3 this coming Friday (gyms and indoor restaurants will reopen but face coverings and social distancing are still required). The cases are falling every day.

Fingers crossed but everyone in my circle has made it out okay so far. A lot of elders are in care homes that are nearly completely locked down, but we recently started visits through plexiglass if the visitor tests negative.

I'm going back to work (physically) on Wednesday and we will be working in isolated pods (only necessary people in contact with each other).

All in all feeling pretty good about things. The government put out a form of temporary UBI so people who were laid off or not working were able to pay their bills. It's going to keep going until early autumn and they're hoping it will help save the economy from crashing.

You look like my grandmother.
edit: when she was young. You don't look like you're 80.

Meanwhile in Texas...

Yeah, it's still pretty bad around here. Too many people aren't taking it seriously, and the state government is waffling so hard on the issue. Nothing is really being done to keep people safe, and it's just kind of like the wild west when it comes to whether or not people are social distancing or wearing masks. I'm coming up on month number five of not working, and I'm glad that I had some money saved up. I still have unemployment coming in, but it's getting kind of scary, and I'm starting to get desperate for work.

It's a little better now. I've gone back to work recently, but I'm working two jobs to make up for the lost hours. People seem to be taking masks more seriously, though I think that's because most businesses are enforcing mask policies now. Actual social distancing is still pretty iffy, but it's a step in the right direction. I'd like things to continue to get better, and hopefully we don't see that regression that experts have been warning about.
