I love working with gfx in rmxp, it has a higher resolution meaning I can make my gfx more detailed, and plus I can make 8-bit colors instead of 256 colors.

The bad thing about it is that it makes it harder for people who don't know ruby to work with it. They still can of course, but then they can't have facesets, they cant play movies, they cant change the transparancy of message boxes, and there stuck with the crappy battle system.

I suppose that IS pretty cool....

Not true at all, you don't need to script at all to make a CBS.
Also, it's fairly easy when you open up script, look at the message option, and see the number to change for transparency.
I also made a common event that switches the main character's charaset to the bigger faceset when you open the menu, and switches it back when you exit the menu.

I see this might turn into an argument, so we should probably stop talking about the ups and downs of rmxp in this topic. Maby we could start one on it somewhere else if it isn't against the rules.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

He hasn't asked us to do anything yet, so when he does, we'll post it here, but until then, I see no reason for me not to talk about RMXP.
