Playing on the Insane setting without Noise Reduction is like jumping out of a plane without a parachute or any clothes.

I usually have it on the clean channel, cause my pedalboard is plugged into it. I like that you can tap in the tempo for the echo and delay and stuff.

It may be more economical to buy a 15W, but it's more ergonomical (for me anyways) with the 10. Its easy to carry places to jam out, and really small, so it dosen't take up space. It also has good sound, and was reasonably priced. I think smaller amps like that are good for practice. Anything bigger should be used for band practice (not just jamming out or practicing alone) and for live performances.

Okay, I admit, Plight, that my conclusions about guitars were a bit  ridiculous.  What I should have said is this:

If she seriously wants to learn the guitar, get her a better starter guitar than a Squier.  If she's just gonna give it up after awhile, then yeah, get her one that's not as good.

If she's gonna give it up after a while, slap her in the face and tell her to stop being such a stupid bitch.

Ibanez IJX40 is good for begginers in my opinion. (Which matters not really) I found a place where you can get one in a starter package also. Are you an american citizen? If so you can get one that comes with an amp, strings(extra), a teaching book and dvds, a carrying bag. All for $250. You can also get overnight shipping for a little extra. Taxless as well as free shipping without the overnight deal.

It all depends on the type of music she wants to play. Sad to say it, if the gear she has doesn't let her get the sound she wants, she's going to give up a whole lot faster.

Go for a cheap Fender Strat, a Marshall or Line 6 15 Watt amp and a decent cable. Simple.
