The Omega Seal
« on: September 11, 2005, 05:32:24 PM »
Alright, I've remade the thread, so from now on when I have updates, they'll be here. Not much to say, except for the custom title that's been added into the game. Basically, it works like any other professional game. We've made it so the introduction runs by itself, and then if you hit enter, it teleports you to the CTS (Custom Title Screen) that has the option of beginning the game and then exiting it. The reason I've done this is so that people who don't save in the beginning don't have to watch the introduction allllll over again. The game itself starts off at the Ace/Floating guy intro. The story introduction and the cultist scene are in the "before title screen" intro, meaning you can skip them. I'm pleased with how it turned out. ^^

Here's a screen of the custom title. Nothing special really, but I like it. Especially the music in the background, but anyway, you'll notice that it's just an empty cliff, well that changes as the game progresses. For example, once the first intro is done and you play as Ace, Ace is added to the scene. In order to see this though, you have to use the newly added "Exit to Title" option in the Custom Menu. So, here's the screen.

Haha, "CTS", man that's awesome.

Edit: I like the idea, but overall it dosent seem right. I mean, if the intro sceene is really important, you wouldn't put it at the game intro. Usually, I just skip over stuff like that, and the
professional" games you speak of dont do that. Sure they might have a little part before the title screen, but they always put the main important intro in the begining. Otherwise you have people that completly missed the concept and started the game with no idea what's going on.

Asakura makes a good point. Perhaps you could just have a general intro with game clips, or maybe it could just display one of your trailers.

Wavedude: We can't give out specific RM2K/3 links, so go search it on Google.

Hmm, well it is a good point, however, even I think it really sucks when you have to watch the whole darn intro again. I'll just leave a message with the download as a special note to not press any buttons during the introduction of the game. Or maybe, have a "You watched the intro, right? Yes/No option, Yes begins the game, No takes you back to the title screen (not cts).

I always thought this game looked good but I haven't posted. So now, I'll say... "Great looking game!" I like the cts too. I don't think I have seen anything quite like it.

Wow, that looks great. I too am curious as to how this is done.
But, I'm sure the magician can't reveal his secrets. =P

I'm going to go read the original thread now, so I can comment the game as well.

Edit- No, nevermind. I can't seem to find it. Went all the way to page six or so... Has it been deleted?

Original thread = gone. Er, I don't feel like discussing it. Anyway, I'd rather not release how it's done (Warxe did most of it, obviously, but I had a part take in it, unlike some other things) because I don't want the idea being overused like Face Maker PL facesets. I won't hold it back, but I probably won't say how until the next demo is released. And just so you guys know, it's a lot harder than it seems. But anyway, if you want info on the game, just go to my site... which I noticed I don't have in my sig anymore. Um yeah, just give me a minute and it'll be back in my sig.
