I used to have RMXP, but I deleted it when I switched over to 2k3 because I wasn't using it.

I'd say 2k3 is best.

RM2K3 seems to be our best bet, as most people around here have it, it's easier to use than GM, and better than 2K. And there's probably not a whole lot of other makers that people are acquainted with.

I agree - I think the most people here have it out of all the makers. If they don't... well they could code something in 2k (XP?) then have it recoded I guess.

Just a thought that probably wont come true...

What if we open a Charas calendar? Not these things with pictures, the ones with stuff in them.

But we have one new mini-game each day til the 24(25) december when we have the final one that we can play during christmas.

This would require alot of work and we probably have to work during school and work.

Well as i began this post "Just a thought"

Game maker wouldn't be a good choice, because the newest version you have to buy/register for it and not many poeple will have that version or buy it. So, i would go with rm2k3.

What about sphere?

Ohh, an Advent Calendar. I know what you're talking about.

And hmm. We could. But then again, I always eat mine every two days. So we could do that, it seems like a more believable goal, a minigame every few days. But that is a good idea.

If we could get enough people to code and sprite in that, sure. But I don't particulary care for it, and I'm not sure if a lot of people on the community are. And plus, RM2K3 is the community's preferred maker, so it makes more sense to put it in there. I'm not opposed to using Sphere, though.

Yay, minigames, coding I can do that :) Anyway, you can count me in.

So how exactly are we going to build this? Are we going to pass around the project, or are we all going to make a little bit and them turn what we did to someone so they can put it all together?

If we work on it seperately, we have to organize what switches and variables each person can use so we don't have multiple people using the same switches and such. We also have to coordinate graphics names and database names.

I saw this thread about 30 minutes ago at school with only 2 replies, i couldn't say anything cuz I can't log in at school, but now its way into the 4th page!! Slow down people :p

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

I'm thinking that whoever wants to make a minigame can make their own, then send it to me and we'll put them all together. But I don't think switches and vars are going to matter much, because we're only going to be running one game at a time, so it doesn't matter if we reuse some vars. Maybe we'll need some global switches and vars for high scores and the like, but those can easily be the first 100, then anything after that is free ground for coders.
But yeah, the database will have to be set up so nothing overwrites anything else. Maybe we can divide each section of the DB into 100-size chunks, and we'll have everything set up here so no one accidentally uses anything else.

So, this is about the time when people start posting what they can do. Everyone's free to help regardless of talents.
