Wow, looks nice! I'm not sure I have any ideas for what could go on the ground besides flowers and trees, but as for all the blank space below where the character's standing, I think it would look cool to do what normal top-down maps often do and have little random cliff faces and such to fill in the space and make it look nice. I think a lot of NES games did it like that, like Contra if I remember correctly.

Put different sized rocks, cracks coming from the bottom up, and... uh... that's all I can think of as far as what to put in the ground.

EDIT - Puting the HUD down there will make it a lot easier to see what freespace you have and how to fill it.

Add a variety of trees. Just so you're not seeing the same tree over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. Know what I mean? Otherwise, what AFL said pretty much.

Nothing special, but considering the amount of time I spent making it, I'm happy. A while back, this would've taken me much longer to do than the time I spent on it.

EDIT: Damn, I just noticed the top-right is off by a pixel. Try to ignore that.

Meis, those look brilliant as usual. What, more, they actually look walkable now... I always had doubts as to how your old maps would work in game.

CK, it's a pity you had to go on after meis, because that's a pretty good map :p That chipset will always remind me of the chain game now XD

Meis: the style reminds me of Chrono Trigger. I like it a lot.

CK: Awesome map. I like the trees, they work well with the map. The only problem I have with it is the fence around the graveyard and stuff. Also, probably looks better not in JPEG =P. kudos!
