Funny how he says you shouldnt be offended. i am not offended, but I am sure some families of victims would be.

Truth is: Terrorists won that day. believe it or not. whoever the hell really was behind it all.

And: Osama didn't plan it, so fail.

ALSO:

Have you read/seen/heard how many bombings have been foiled lately?

Lots. If there's one thing that Sept. 11th accomplished, it's that global security has been greatly tightened. No more screw-ups, we're doing things the way they should have been to begin with. And things will stay that way (for another five-ten years or so).

That's what happens when Grandy starts talking about 9/11. I think we should warn him about doing this again, with penalty of a banning. :p

Well my side of the coin is that 9/11 was Bush's way to get votes to the election... Only the gods know what power the FBI and CIA got in America... A whole damn continent were they can run free... But that's nto the point here.

Sure, feel sad about the lost ones but seriously? Why the hell would the leader of the US suddenly go out and demand that all other friggin' country has to keep a silent minute for the dead? Every single school in Sweden had this **** and no one knew about neither americans or any people involved... As in, it had absolutely nothing to do with us back here.

About as many peopel died during the tsunamies in Thailand and there were quite a lot of Swedish people down there at the moment who actually took some damage, but no. No minute for their honour no... Just a "We got the school-shrink if anyone needs to talk through these hard times." We actually had abot three people in my class who either lost or got a relative hurt.

And yes, America is all hyped about 9/11 as it is about the most intresting thing that has happened to them since Pearl Harbor, just a good thing that they didn't drop another bomb. But then again, the oil would be ruined by it as well.

No, I won't ramble any more than this, have a nice day.

Seriously, you can't compare a natural disaster to this. Natural disasters and such run in cycles, they can be anticipated. You know that by living in Thailand you might get hit by a wave. You don't libe in America thinking "Hey, our *** is gonna get **** to it." It just happened, and it made a lot of people aware of the world around them, even in other countries. Really, it was a landmark.

I donno but I still see no point for us over here in Sweden to grief about americans who died, I mean it's not like the Americans ever do the same for anyone but themselves...

And could you mention one act of terrorism sicne 9/11? I sure can't think of one. Sure there are terrorists, sure there are rapists. Everyone got their ideals and are willing ot do what it takes to get what they want. It's not like making the people fear them will do any good. Sure go out and say "Citizens of USA, we've been attacked by terrorists and will probably be so again... Arm Thyneselvth!" but that won't do that much more good than striking fear into the people.

But seriously? Is this not the very reason we got these fire-tests in school? Where a teacher sets of the fire alarm and everyoneleaves the building? It's not like they do that so the kids will begin to run in panic and push their way through the crowds.
They do it so people will still remain calm during a moment like this.

Making everything in-flameable and saying that you can't bring matces is good yes, but when you not only ban matches but also toothpicks because their simalirty, that is going too far. They can not catch on fire unless another match lights them, they are nto a threat and yet they are being treated in a degrading way because some of the thoothpicks took up a top and became
matches.
And then holywood comes and make a bunch of lame-*** shows and movies about the Iraq wars and such so that you will support this cause but it really only creates yet another holywood steriotype of an Iraqian citizen as a decieving man who most probably is a terrorist because of that... That's just wrong, I doubt any of you would actually be able to just be comfortable with the fact that you have an Iraque next to you in the bus, but the truth is that the chances that the handsome young man next you on the bus is a rapist is about three-times larger.

And no, I won't continue now, that was about enough.

HOLY CHRIST YOU GUYS. FOUR PAGES.
I go out with my lady for a night.....one night, and theres like, four pages of semi heated rant. thats awesome.... trade them political views

i agree with ZKX in that you cant compare an act of god to an act of agression

I also think that alot of the 'foiled bombings' are staged media ruses.
i think pretty much 40-70 % or all 'objective' media outlets are pretty much puppeted. i think if you believe the fine print of what the news tells you, you deserve to be shoved into a box, and shot....then have your thighs filleted.

I think constantly talking about 911 or them thar terrorists. i think the "bad guys" and the "Good guys" are the same wallet. And that wallet owns itself...it jumps into the pockets of bush's and blairs,  and pulls strings.

i think nutella is delightfull.

Tonnes of people die in third world countries every single day. There's no memorial for them.

I certainly don't care much about 9/11 much these days. Nearly 3,000 people died on that one day then, but since then in the war 24,000 people have died.
And don't ask for a source because I'm quoting someone else on the internet and I don't know how accurate that figure is.

Oh, and Luke, that comic you posted: It shows the raw stupidity of deviantart commentors. :p

Psh, I have more things to grieve about, seriously. My country is a whole **** because of politicians, and a decision made yesterday not to punish a politician that is clearly guilty makes me more sad about some people dying in a attack they caused themselves. People here starve to death, chombatta.

I´m really looking into the possibility of leaving here and moving to some other country. How good is England, btw?

And please, don't give that "Dood! Ur gunna giv up ur country? Dat's week!", because here people seem to actually like to suffering and don't give a sh!t! They don't move, don't protest. I DO give a sh!t, but alone I can't do nothing. So, "fight them or join them"? No ****ing way, I refuse to become corrupt. I prefer leaving and live happily somewhere else. "Dood, ur ignorin teh poblem, it's liek, ur fakin 2 b blind!" Ya ya, fuk you, I have about 60 more to live, do you expect me to spend my life trying to save other people's butt while they sit around the TV pretending it's all right? Gimme a break, I have the right to live my life.

Oh yeah, btw, did London police learn how to recognize brazillians? I don't went to be mistaken for a Al Qaeda terrorist...My grandfather IS egypcian (seriously.), but I don't look THAT much like a explosive-belt-dude...

No, you'd remember their memory, and how those bastards cut their lives short. Those people did not deserve to die, what did they do wrong? Live in a good country, and go to work that day? How is that a crime that deserves their death?

I just knew this was going to happen sooner or later.

 Did you know?
 - That there were 2 plane crashes in the last 4 months (or so) in Brasil, which could have been avoided if the people who were supposed to take care of the landing raod thing actually did their job?
 - That over 3 people dies a day on our slums?
 - That my cousin almost died because a doctor gave her a medicine before checking if she was alergic to it? She now looks like Notredame's Hunchback, seriously. It is said she won't live more than 6 years from now.
 - A pacifist protest over here ended in a small one-night civil war beetwen police and whoever was at the streets.
 - Don't get me started at how the politics work here, a politcian managed not to be arrested because he had the legal power to say "I will not be arrested" and HE WAS NOT ARRESTED BECAUSE OF THAT.

And then people come here and fill my beautiful thread about how I should mourn.

Um in case we all forgot... that was the SECOND attempt on the twin towers... Although for some reason no one really talks about the first attempt. Yeah... most of us are too busy with our own personal problems that we don't concern ourselves with the "bigger" problems. It's something natural.
