Why are people saying that you can't compare Hurricane Katrina with 9/11? Katrina wasn't an act of God. It was a racially dividing screw up by our federal government.

Is the Federal Government directly responsible for both incidents, no. They do show that we as a country screw up a lot.

Some ppl are trying to help ppl from new orleans. I've heard of hotels giving some of the homeless rooms for a couple of months until they got back on their feet. Course I also heard that they tried kicking some of these ppl out because they overstayed their welcome. And I've heard of ppl giving families space in their homes. Some celebs like Oprah and Ty penninton have taken it upon themselves to build new homes for families. Some celebs even went so far as to give ppl the clothes off their backs.

And I dunno.. from what I saw on the news, orleans wasn't going to survive a flooding unless I guess the sea was blocked off with a hurricane barrier. And no everyone could just pack up and go.. although maybe they can.. but lack will power..? I dunno. And as for the mayor, I heard he personally requested for one of the cars *army tank or some crap* to go to his house and get his personal belongings. Jackass.

It was known in advance, there should've been some kind of evacuation procedure of sorts prepared. You can just as easley force *or try, lol* ppl outta their houses if their lives are in danger. As for the gangs, I heard that it started to get real bad in that dome everyone was living in. They started fighting, stealing, catching and raping the kids. And how long were they all in there?
