Ugh
« on: July 16, 2008, 04:52:09 PM »
So for a few weeks now my cat has been missing. We let him out one day and never really saw him again. No big deal, we figured he'd pop up again sooner or later, he's done it before. This morning round 7:30 I was driving to a summer school class I 'm taking and I saw what looked like a cat lying in the middle of the road. I passed by it but didn't get a very good look at it, but it made me pretty nervous. I was already running late but I decided to turn around and get a closer look. I pulled over to the side of the road and got out of my car. Walking up to it I can see it's clearly the same color as my cat. Well, sure enough, there he was, no denying it was my cat. He was in a horrible state. Some car had come along and hit him and he was... well he was really mangled bad and no longer alive So, I was obviously a little shocked to see my cat in such a state and I got in my car and drove away half believing what I just saw not really knowing what to do.

After summer school, about 3 hours, I'd come to my senses and picked a friend up to help me and went back hoping he was still there and that no one else had hit him. Someone had moved him to the side of the road, but he was still there. I put him in a box and buried him in the woods in a deep grave encased in rocks.

The thing is, it shook me real bad when I first saw him. Just the state he was in, I can't even describe how bad he looked without feeling some how guilty. I've lost pets before and even family members, but actually seeing him lying in the middle of the road, dead and so completely broken... It was one hell of a bad feeling.

It's weird, I don't normally take that road, it's not any faster and I was already running late. He must have gotten hit some time that morning/late night.

Anyone ever lost a pet in such a dramatic way?

My dog got into a fight with another dog and was bitten so badly that it needed to be put down. But meh it was a long time ago, barely remeber it anymore.

My guinea pigs get eaten by cats if we're not careful. We used to let them run around on the patio unsupervised when it was a dry day, and one day I heard this really loud bweeping (The guinea pig's alarm system. They make that noise when they're frightened and it was loud enough to hear over the metallica I was listening to >.>) and I looked out the window and literally saw a cat pick one of them up in it's mouth. I ran out the house and ended up chasing it down the garden XD

The cat dropped her eventually and I thought I'd saved her life for a while but she died in a few days. Must've had internal bleeding >.>

One of my older dogs was shot by a poacher off of our property. We heard a gunshot and never saw him again.

When I was four my sister left her guinea pig in our sand box/house thing (I forgot which) near our house when we left to go grocery shopping.  We came back (about six hours later) to find a little, black, baked guinea pig o__o

I have a story sort of similar.

It actually lead up to some pretty serious crap afterwards that sucks to talk about in a fun forum...so Ill cut that stuff out

I was 19 and living in a house with a couple of my friends. We were young and stupid and did a bit too much partying. So much partying that it seemed a lucrative idea to sell drugs out of my house.

We drank almost every night. The cops never came, we had no neigbors. We partied. People had sex on our lawn. We did drugs. (drugs are bad) Not just the ones that grow on trees. The bad ones that make you think youre going crazy a few weeks after youre sobered up.

After a solid 6 months of this partying, I couldnt keep up. Work was failing to keep up with expenses, and We were Doing more of the prduct then we sold. One of our roommates had a cat, who was a very awesome kitty.

Two other room mates moved out, with said cat. For some reason I kept hearing meowing in the walls afterwards. I figured that i was going crazy and tried to shut it out of my head. I knew my friend still had his Kitty, and that I was hearing things.
About this time, I was displaying early onset symptoms of schizophrenia. So needless to say, I was a recluse and paranoid most of the time. I was aware that At time I was delusional, and pretty much believed in nothing that was going on around me. Especially this meowing. I figured i was going nuts. A month or so later, I was aware that I needed to be treated, and was preparing to move out. My old roomate with the kitty came by to help me move stuff.

The meowing had grown less and less frequent.

But then suddenly, it came again, and my friend heard it too.

We pinpointed the sound as coming from the attic. He pried off the boards concealing the entrance and popped his head in. A few moments later he came down with a litter of kittens, that were almost all dead. Two were alive, and one of the living ones eyes were literally rotten out of its head. It was Meow-screaming wildly.

My friend tried to nurse the seemingly healthier baby back to health. It died later that night.
I had to take the Zombie kitten out to our back yeard and after wrapping it in some towels I tried to kill it quickly with a large stone. I knew the kitty wouldnt make it, and I had no funds to take it to the vet to have it put to sleep. Not to mention it seemed to have the plague.
It drove me over the edge. And about 3 months later they let me out of the hospital, doped up on meds. I still have nightmares about that kitty, despite having been given a clean bill of mental health since 04.

Dont do drugs.

Any if anyone is going to flame me for mercy killng that poor kitty, then do so in PM.

My dog had a seizure once, right in front of me, and died. . . it was scary.
One of my other dogs got killed in a dog fight the night I left my parents' house for foster care. Scary too.
I'm really sorry, that sounds awful.
And zombie kitty. . . jeez I hope you're kidding. . . not that I doubt your honesty but that's just damn horrific.

I just lost my (overweight) goldfish two or three days ago. I knew I should've been more caring, but it's kinda hard when you feel the creature kinda deserved it for "bullying" and inevitably killing all of his other "fish friends."

He was a jerk, and he died. But he was my jerk. :| I still can't look at the empty tank without remembering him.

I used to have a robot spider... Pretty cool thing that walked around on it's own and followed sound and stuff.
We had some times... Then my mother didn't turn off the alarm downstairs...
He tried to follow the sound and I was too busy beating the living hell out of Ganon to notice.

I hear this bang, and then it was game over for me and the spider. Poor thing, my uncle couldn't repair it. Just a pile of broken metal and circuts. (It actually fell down the first stairs and then fell between it and down about 2 meters right into the stair below.)

Ah, I'm too much sensitive when it comes to pets (because I like animals much more than human...seriously.), so I won't write about it...but I got a story really similar to that, but it happened right before my eyes.

When I was really young, like, four, I accidentally crushed my sisters hamster in a doorway. Had to be put down after that.

She was really broken up about it. When I was that age, I was all like, "Whatev". God, I was an ***.

Now we have a cat. And it's cute. And too big to not notice when it's not in a doorway.
