Super Mario World RPG....Again

Hey Everyone Some of you might remember me from a while ago. The last time you guys saw me was when i was working on my Super Mario World RPG..well i learned quickly that i just wasn't ready to put enough work in to that project for it to turn out the way i in visioned it. So time pasted and i began work on another game and well i got far enough to release a demo for it but it just wasn't anything i was crazy passionate about and might go back to later but who knows.

Any way by now your probably wondering why your reading this and what im doing here well its simple. I have begun work on another Mario RPG and before you write me off and just say the same thing is just going to happen again just read on and find out what this game holds for you.

Story- YOu know to tell you the truth i haven't thought about this much im shooting for something different and not just the Bowser Kidnaps the Princess and Mario goes to get her back but i dont know i want this to feel as authentic as possible and well just see where it leads us.

Characters- (Characters to be Named when i begin work on the story) Also every character announced is completely done 

Mario: Everyone saw this one coming, Mario is the main character in this game and well like any other Mario rpg's he uses a variate of Hammer and Jump attacks pretty straight forward character.
Meduim HP
Medium MP


Boo- A Boo that joins your party he focuses on Status attacks by scaring his opponents. He can also turn mario invisable on the map in order for him to walkthrough Gates
Medium High HP
Medium High MP

Spiny- A Spiny That Joins your Party he Focuses on Consistent Attacks that do Medium Damage but never Miss. On the Map he can Go into his shell and hit far switches.
Highest HP
Medium Low- MP

Bombomb- A bombomb that joins your party he focuses on high dammage attacks but they have the highest MP costs and miss frequently. He can explode on the field and destroy boulders blocking your path.

(More characters to be added soon possibly a yoshi if i can find a field skill for him, and expect a Latiki or a paratroopa or paragoomba)

Features-

Parties consist of Mario and one ally Similar to the Paper Mario Series, this helps keep battles balanced and put more pressure on your battle choices.

Field skills for every ally, again similar to the paper mario series that puzzles will be solved by using you allys abilities.

A quick change Party System on the Map, pretty obvious if the puzzles are going to work.

Group attacks, Mario and his ally unleash a strong group based attack, Mario will have 3 available for every ally

Custom Made Sprites- Well if using sprite sheets cout then yup every battle sprite is custom and i am ripping every enemy alot of work but also alot of fun.

Custom Made Battle Animations- Every attack looks different and wont use and RTP animations or sprites

Well thats about all it is right now i will include some screen shots soon

Good job wth the original sprite ideas, you should probably be a little more creative story wise.  Your game no matter what is ends up like will be better than the nintedo ones, they lost their skills after paper mario 1.

Is it ABS?

Whoa, wait WHAT? Man, Paper mario one was barely even playable. They didn't get good until #2... although Super Sucked without the rpg element.

And the ones for GBA/DS were ****ing AWESOME.

Agreed, except for the part about the first sucking. I liked it.

Hey guys major bump but its my topic so i think im good. I took a little bit of a break from this but now im back and its coming along nicely.

I have added the ability for mario to enter different power up's ie. Fire Mario Tanoki Mario etc. The system is not quite what i want but it still works nicely and is fluid.

Trying to focus on a more original story and think ive got something good but not sure we'll see how that goes. This is the farthest ive ever gotten in one of my games and im proud of my work so ill share more as tim goes on but i just want to make sure its worth showing.

I'm rooting for ya this time as well.

Just a lil something something.
Custom means you made it, like from scratch pixel by pixel. You're using ripped sprites put into sheets. So it's not really custom.

Hard to say about this game. On one hand, Mario RPGs have a lot of nerdy nostalgic potential and I never really liked the direction the Paper Mario series went. On the other hand, it sounds like a lot of this is just copied directly from the Paper Mario games and not too many of the screenshots show otherwise. It could be a good game or it could be a disaster - not enough information presented for me to make a reasonable opinion.
