Well, it only seems right that this thread comes back for one last ride now that Homestuck has officially ended.

Did anyone read to the end? Thoughts?

The news post was updated, there is going to be an epilogue. It's not over just yet.

Welcome to the Epipause.

I got pretty close, but one of those insufferable and tedious multi-select things fatigued me to the point of putting off finishing it. I'm very close to the end, but far enough away that I'd need to dedicate a good chunk of the day to catching up.

I'll do it soon.

Haha, when you do, bump this thread and we can all talk about it properly. I'll have a more level headed opinion on it by then.

rest in stuck. Wish Act 7 was a full act with dialogue but that animation was pretty gud.

(Homestuck is my favorite anime)

Ending was well animated and has great music, but everything recent just smacks of "Okay I'm done with this time to end it." I'd have a hundred questions, if I remembered what those questions even were. As it is it seems the ending was basically "big battle k end" which is 100% not how I expected a story this convoluted to go down.

I guess it really did just get too big and overwheming. The standard bar went up so high that trying to meet it squelched out all the little things that made the story charming.

Well, its been like a billion years since it started, so I guess I can't complain about how much content we got anyway.

Problem Sleuth's epilogue was good. I expect the same out of Homestuck's.

I am confused. Everyone I know says Homestuck is a web comic I think yet I hear it has music and animations and now multiple choices?? Sounds more like a visual novel or whatever that term is for things made to make a story more interactive and game-like. While I can see how that'd make in interesting....When I read a web comic it's much like reading a novel for me. I hear, feel and see things as actively as if I were wearing an 3D headset with a nice pair of speakers.  To have music suddenly come from my phone or to be offered choices like an old school Goosebumps book would be...distracting and mind breaking methinks. ^^;

It has a few segments like Openbound where you can actually move around and talk to people.

It's a more multimedia experience, though primarily a webcomic.

O.O Wha...? Hmm...maybe I should try to make my web comic as a game liek everyone suggested but with this kind of idea in place. Gonna research that since my ability to draw may be high but comic panels remain a firm weakness. - -;

I'm glad you stuck with it to the end, Sai. It made me sad that you'd given up when you'd been so passionate about it before.

I mostly agree with you; the comic started like an amazing chocolate sculpture carved in the shape of a riddle, but act six was mostly like a bunch of delicious chocolates sitting on the floor with no real shape, and the riddle was never truly answered.

Ehh, you could say that. More accurately, friends would periodically get all passionate about Homestuck and I would catch up on a few months of updates to be able to talk to it about them. The story definitely had some big ups and downs - honestly, I never got really into the post-scratch Earth kids and their drama, but whatever. I can say I've read it front to back. Its weird, because I remember hearing about this starting when I was still in college, like, what, seven years ago? ****. I know where the time has gone, but its just unbelievable what a run this thing had. It was originally scheduled for two, three years tops?

Well, whatever.

Wake me when the epilogue hits.

I hope people don't think Homestuck is over. Homestuck is def crafted out to become a franchise of itself. Hussie himself said he didn't consider Homestuck to be his Magnum Opus yet. Homestuck still has Paradox Space, the side web comics for people to dive into, and then we have Hiveswap, the Homestuck game that's still being worked on.

Visually, the animation was fantastic. Plotwise though, well... My thoughts at the time were
*animation ends*
"Wow, I can't wait to see what happens next"
*The end*
"I see."

Lord English's death was worse than Bane's in The Dark Knight Rises, and that's saying something.
