Yeah the new tiles look good, but you should try to get some pavement/ bricks into it as well. Maybe some more rocky looking patches and some dry grass and it's gonna be swell.
Also, for your gravemarkers, try to add a little something to the bottom of them so it looks like they are stuck in the ground rather than lying on top of it. Maybe some dirt mounds or some holes for the actual graves as well.

Here is an updated look for the game, the dead cars were ripped from another tileset but pretty much everything else except the walls were drawn by me. The furnace you see there already has a working animation. The rocks rocks you see are rocks and iron ores retextured. There is a berry bush and cotton plants. I also ripped the shelves but retextured them to be lootable and show that they have been looted afterward. I'm trying to decide if I have to do a complete retexture of the walls for a better fit, I don't really want to have to so please let me know if you think they are looking ok as is. Again this is my first hand at spriting any tileset so its a bit off but I like it pretty well.
---------------------------------------Old ---------------------------------------
With working so much lately most of what I've been able to do is draw out some of the tileset, but I have changes in mind for the mechanics. Most of it revolving around the ability to smelt and adding more loot and usable items. Again this isn't the finished product, I am going to be coding for a while to come on all of the non map related content before it gets to mapping, but once I have it all there it will be mostly a matter of copy/pasting events, but they have to be perfected first.

Well if that is your first time doing a tileset then I'm gonna bow to you 'cuz it looks great.
One thing that I noticed is that you use pretty hard edges on your objects, by that I mean that you use a dark black for the outline, I think the objects would fit better with the lower layer if you change that. Like, change all the outlines to match the darkest colour of the walls. Maybe reduce the saturation of the brown as well to look more like the bookscase.

Coll I will try that.
Also this is what I've done today. I've added some road textures and gravel textures which I'm pretty proud of that really gives it alot more depth. Really starting to dig it. Let me know what you think.
EDIT:
Also I've retextured the furniture like you said purple:

Beginning of the End V0.3 Release!
Hey guys big update today, I've released a new version of my game with improvements but the biggest part is the graphics overhaul most of which I have done myself, so I really want to know what you think. Keep in mind there are still "some" vanilla textures left but most have been thrown out.
V0.3 Changelog:
Graphic overhaul
Furnaces have been added to the game
You no longer have to use a log per craft when crafting with iron, you just have to keep your furnace lit
You have to add more wood to your fire/furnace to keep it buring
New tags to each usable item explaining how much they restore
Recipes have been added to the game, so you no longer start out with every crafting option
New items like banadages and adrenalin have been added to the game
Lighting affects have been added to fires and furnaces
Fires and furnaces die out when sleeping
A new proximity system has been implemented so that you still craft through the main menu but you have to be standing next to a lit furnace to successfully do it (this helps avoid running through choice menues to pick what you want to craft)
Shelves, barrels, boxes, and crates can now all be raided for random loot!
A new debugging menu has been added, if you want to mess around with it, just hit "Q" and enter the password "69996", but please play with the survival aspect too as it still needs balancing
New character had been added to the game, more fitting to the new graphic style
This is going to feel quite a bit different from the first time if you were able to test it. Please download and let me know what you think! The new download link will also be posted on the front page.

Alot of progress tonight:
Added cotton as a new plantable plant
Added ability to craft bandages with cotton
Added new wilting system, due to the fact that with a 10 planting limit you could loose your plant and it would be hard to find it again, this is no longer a problem as all of your plants die 15 minutes after planting.
Added new skill under Information tab, pressing Plant Lifespan will bring up a scrolling list of ALL plants and how long they have been alive
Change old skill information to new scrolling skill chart
Fix* monsters no longer move around during skill or plant lifespan list
This might not seem like much but its about 4-5 hours of coding. These haven't been added to the current build V0.3, this is more of just a progress update. Let me know what you think!

Update:
Ok so I realise no one is really looking to help me test my game but I'm still going to be doing updates so here is one the (imo) coolest updates I've came up with so far. New starting characters with bios and unique stats. They have both advantages and disadvantages. For example Tomas. is old but experienced and hard working he gets all iron crafting recipes and extra stamina while his age limits his health. Blake is smart and learns skills faster but is weak in a fight. I may add more characters in the future but this is a good round balanced set of starters for now.
Hoping to have a new downloadable demo soon with the new characters and thier skills implemented. Again I would really enjoy some feedback but I understand that it is the holidays.

Cool thanks, should be another version or two out by then. I've got the new characters programmed in. Next I'm going to start scripting in trader and bandit random events, and probably guns and ammo.

Ok so, here comes version 0.4.
This version includes all of the previous changes stated above as well as:
Added new craftable armor both metal and cloth
Added new crafting recipe for metal armor
Added durability for armor
Added durability for weapons
Implemented perks for starting characters (still need balance feedback)
Tweaked and increased monster spawn rate and monster toughness multiplier
Really looking forward to getting some feedback on some of the latest updates. Has been hard to keep the momentum going with the project as the hype seems to have hit a low. Any feedback is appreciated. I feel like I am getting close to the finished product as once I get this tech demo ironed out the map will be blown up exponentially, resources will be much more sparse and survival will really become the name of the game.
Here the download for V0.4, I will alos be putting it on hte first page.

Looks like you're really improving. I'll try to give it a go, but as you noticed from the last time I said it: it might take a while.
