Sexual innudendo is not art, and the fact that you enjoy that stain upon music merely for their suggestive lyrics makes me doubt your judgement. Its not art (what music should be), its music made for mindless masochist drones.

Maybe they still make music as they went on as a band? Eh? Eh?

NO, they quit as a band in 94 because courtney love boought the rights to the songs.  The other members don't get money from the songs now.

And ZEro Kirby, Alice and Chains is Grunge. ONe of the most if not the most.

Every band I listed is grunge.

And Archem, Grunge is the most melodic music there is.

Alice in chains signed to Columbia in 1989 and were to be promoted as a heavy metal band. Alice In Chains first release was 1990's We Die Young EP, and the title song became a hit on metal radio.

Alice in Chains were promoted as an alternative group due to the Seattle grunge scene's commercial rise. The hit song "Would?", from the movie Singles, preceded their next album, 1992's Dirt.

They were not grunge. More metal with grunge elements, thus the alternative label.

Grunge is a 3rd wave style, the bands can fit into more than one genre.

Now here's something I have a problem with. Why do we have to put every band into nice little categories? Really, any band that lasts the test of time, do not sound the same. Sure the music industry loves to put out clone bands, Simple Plan and Good Charlotte being perfect examples. But in 20 years, are people gonna remember them like people will remember, say, Metallica? or Slayer, or Maiden, or, hell I could go on and on. Anyways, you listen to Alice in Chains and Nirvana, they sound different, Alice in Chains is much more metal based, Nirvana much more pop influenced. And why is everyone gangin up on AC/DC? Sure their singer sounds different, but why do you think they're one of the most well known bands in the world? Their music isn't anything to play, hell, most of their bass lines revolve around 1 note...

As a musician, I listen to every form of music, with only one exception, and that is techno. I have a problem with techno because it allows people who do not even play an instrument to sit at their computer and make up a song. That bothers me, because it ruins the years of work I've put into playing various instruments.

All music has it's good points and it's bad points. I can't say that I hate any band, because everyone who's up there must have at least one song that's good, and being very open minded, I'll listen to anything. Yes, that means I listen to rap people, and R&B and whatever else you wanna throw at me. Country, Jazz, Classical, whatever, I listen to it.

Another point I love to make, is that some of the greatest musicians in rock and roll history, weren't even that talented. Of course, Kurt Cobain is one of the first to come to mind, but what of John Lennon, he was just like Cobain, in fact, Cobain idolized Lennon. Lennon was not that great of a guitarist, nor a great singer, but he knew how to write songs, and along with McCartney, they were one of, if not THE best song writing team in rock history

To tell you the truth, I used to agree wholeheartedly with that statement. Now I'm quite the opposite. I write, perform (synthesizer and some guitar), and produce music influenced by electronic artists. It does require more talent than you would think to write. Electronic music, when properly conceived, is extremely intricate. Music completely analog in recording and production is fairly rare today, and while it detracts somewhat from the realism of the music, electronic means allow an artist to more fully bring across a point through music.

Yeah. There are good Techno songs which can sound nice on other instruments. Like the FFVII Boss Battle Theme on the guitar.
