I've said it to two other girlfriends. I know for a fact I didn't mean it for one of them. That's a long complicated story I'm not even sure about, and the other was more like a "first love" or "puppy love" kinda situation. Since those times I've changed and have developed a lot of new outlooks on life. I know a little bit more about love now, and I'm gonna make sure that the next time I say "I Love You" that I really mean it. Though I have thought it'd be nice to have someone say it to me first instead of the other way around. Anyone feel the same?

^^ HELL YES!

I wish people would ask me out and tell me they love me instead of me sticking my neck out and most likely being rejected... However i dont want it if it is not sincere

True, I think that pretty much answers the question, "Why is it harder to say it if you mean it?" Simple answer, you're afraid of rejection. It makes sense to be more afraid to hear the words "no" or "I don't love you" if you mean it than if you didn't mean it because there's more to lose.

Meh. You have to say it often when you're married.
I learned that from Everybody Loves Raymond. I learn a lot of things from Everybody Loves Raymond.
I don't think it means as much to me when I say it as it does to her. So it's easy to say. I realize you are almost all teenagers, and you know, are stupid. Kids have a crush and think it's love.. they say I love you after going out for a week. Stupid stupid ****.

it's not what you say, it how you express what you're feeling that's important.

I don't have a hard time saying it... if I think I mean it.

My best friend from high school, I told her on prom that I loved her, and we never dated or anything.
We're unofficially together now though, and she thinks I love my ex... it's a big ugly situation

I've only fallen in love once, and it just popped out of me to say it. That was already in October 2004, but in september 2005 I was officially screwed. Maybe a youngling me just shouldn't think about such stuff, especially after the time when I went real close on that girl.. Although I sometimes just hate appearing like a hateful person in real life.

Yup yup~

I've been with him for over a year, and we say it to each other all the time. I really do love him, and I dont think it matters what age you are. I think anyone is capable of loving someone. <3

I've said it once to a ten years on-off date and he never talked to me again...
Also had it said to me but the person moved to Argentina two weeks later and that's all.
"I love you" it's a very rare one to hear 'round here. I can count on one hand how many times I've seen it said through my family (and it's a BIG family) and I myself never have or got one from a relative. We just don't say it... maybe it's unnecessary, or it jsut won't come out. Go figure... :|

Not talking about family.
That just depends how you were raised.

I think this conversation can be won by listening to 'More Than Words' by Extreme.

Are you sure youīre from Brazil? What part of it exacly, cause where I live itīs not a big deal...

Mr.Mr...More than Words is like, a "Shut up and lay down" music ainīt it?

Saying I love you
Is not the words I want to hear from you
It's not that I want you
Not to say, but if you only knew
How easy it would be to show me how you feel
More than words is all you have to do to make it real
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
Cos I'd already know
What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying I love you
More than words
Now I've tried to talk to you and make you understand
All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands and touch me
Hold me close don't ever let me go
More than words is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
Cos I'd already know
What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying I love you
More than words
