Well, for my current project, the graphics aren't all original. Some are, though some are edits of NES and gameboy stuff. For example, the purple shell in the new screen is a colored Final Fantasy advance shell. Most of the monsters are original, and some of the tiles are as well, but there are a lot of edits also.

A Forgotten Legend: Meiscool is right about the mapping. I would suggest not only tutorials, but also considering how a similar building/area might look in real life. If you were to walk into a weapon store in real life, would you see a ton of swords on the floor? Put some tables so people can place the weapons on there, or maybe have some hanging on the walls. If it's a place to forge weapons, you could have a fireplace, still some tables, anvils, tools and stuff around. I think you should take a look at professional games maps and also some other RM games that have good maps for inspiration.

ok.  (really it is just a storage room)  I need to better my mapping skills.
I made this on XP.  I think its better than most of my maps.  It is towards the beginning of my XP project.  I am working on one 2003 and an XP.  right now I am focus on my XP.
EDIT: I just realized that I made it so the second story windows are level (look level) with the first story windows on the other part of the house. hmm... I should fix that.

Hmmm... the house is ok, though the flowery things are kinda repetitive. Are those supposed to be bushes surround the area, or Trees? Either way they are kinda too square, doesn't look natural.

Also, if they are trees, where are the trunks?

So Ive been editing XP's RTP. Recoloring....tweaking...

I was working on A townset..

The project Im designing this for is a TBS...So Ive also been trying all sorts of templates. I made a few templates...they looked cool, but not with the TBS.

So Ive been looking at other templates that were similar, And I came up with the one I used for the sprite in the screen.

But uh.....How are the Chips looking? I tried to give it a different feel than the standard rtp...A bit more earth toned and less-saturated with colour.

It took along longer to make this set than it looked like.

But uh....

Yeahs

Very drab, in a good way. Different than the normal bright and perkiness.

The screens aren't bad. However, I hope the 4th screen isn't in the same game, because it doesn't fit in with the other 3. That isn't FF8's Liberali Fatali, is it? You should probably choose lesser known songs for your projects.

Screen. Ignore the vines/clocks on the corners, they were added because I need to use this for a non-RM project. In the game, they won't be there.

i was thinking either that or The intro of O Fortunata.  I wanted a dramtic feel.  Sorry, but yep, screen 4 is in the same game.  nothing happened there, its just showing that all over the world it began raining.  In all of the screens it was raining (i now in 3 its hard to tell)  in screen 2, the door is closing, i got it right in the middle of that.  I caught screen 4 right as it was transitioning to the next map, and i still need to add some tints, possibly an overlay for screen one (i read meiscool's great tutorial after i made these)  I did all of these when i was supposed to be sleeping.  I did better when I was half-asleep, go figure....

This topic is so dead....

Time to bring it back or something maybe.

Ocean: Yeah, it looks like a school. I think a paper airplane somewhere would be an awesome effect. You've got a very Zelda TMC look going, be that what you wanted or not:p

The big screenshot is just a bunch of screenshots I took then put together in paint. Also, I don't have any current versions of my game out. Aside from that, my old game sucks compared to what I've got going now :p

You're mapping has gotten a lot better. It still needs some help on making attractive interiors and mountains, but your town looks good, even though I'm suspecting that you stole that method of mapping from the "Devil Hunter Seeker Of Power" game.

I'm a little late, but that chipset looks amazing Gemini. Chipset artists are extremely rare around here...
