Eh, that map is very lacking. I can understand your desire for open space for the gameplay, which is good and something I often have trouble with... but come on. From the looks of things, your map consists of two different wall tiles and two auto tiles. You should really put in some objects on the floors and walls, and liven things up with a varying floor tile. If you're going for an ancient temple look, then add some urns/vases, torch stands, wall paintings, etc. If you want ruins, then add cracks, statues, vines, etc.

I know you said you're looking for a chipset, which could very well mean that the chipset you're using right now isn't the one that will be in the finished game... but saying something on the lines of "These arn't the graphics I plan on using" then posting a map isn't exactly orthadox.

You did a good job at sectioning off each room and connecting them with long halls. Making the long halls into stair ways would make them seem less like... long halls haha. Um, yeah. What you've got has good potential, it is just very bland. Once you've added objects to each little room I'm sure it will look a great deal better.

Speaking of ruins... here's what I've been working on:

Plants and flowers are there because I want them there... ya know, because I like pretty stuff... even if it's ruinous.

It's not really much to see. It's from a game I'm programming in C++ in HGE. It's for a school assignment and is a 2d space shooter.

Oh yeah the screen is resized because it was huge.

That's just an editor point of view. THe real thin has torches and monsters running around. I'm also going to add bones on the floor and som runes on the walls.

Lol I didn't mean I needed a new ruin chipset. I meant i need a modern ship upper deck, that's what's holding me up.

Realy? I was going for that, but I was also mainly trying to confuse the player Lol.

And yet another screenshot. Ha ha. I suppose you're all gettin' sick of these by how, huh? Well, don't fret, as there are not too many more to come. I made a good many maps before this, but found that this one was the only real one worth showing. And it's still nothing special, so that will tell you how good the others were. Heh heh heh.

Right here we have the Holy Temple/Temple of the Sages. It's the place where it all started, and the sanctuary of the Holy Orb that has been stolen by the Emperor, Xyan. I tried to make the place as good as it could look, and I hope I did a good enough job. It's supposed to be a gran, holy, calming place...so I tried to make it what I thought one would look like.

The map is seperated into two screens: the top and the bottom-half of the temple.

Try to put more trees at random.
Remove the grass around the bridge parts.
And then it should look a bit better. Also try to have some variation on the ground tiles. Also, round shapes are better than square ones.

Looks nice Ephiam. Seems more colorful than I remember most of your chips being, which is something I like.

Funny you'd say that; the entire thing's a big circle.
What should be done is more or less shapes that just aren't geometric; especially if focusing on the aspect of nature. Usually, the shapes on a map with natural aspects will either be jagged or wavy. Straight lines, in many cases, are a sin!

Well, it was aimed more against the dark grass at the top and bottom, they are awfully square-ish. Same goes for the trees.

Here are some new Dragon Fantasy II Screenshots. Just exploring the Dark World and it's dungeons.

And I had to put this in there for the fun of it. =B Especially since Hero's Realm and all of that helped me to get ideas for DFII.

MEISCOOL WOW I can not believe you are still on here...

Thats wierd... an old strokes song started to play this is probably what I was listening to last time I posted...  you may not remember me Miescool at about page 44 of this forum I posted my final goodbye my computer had crashed all of my game was lost and I was devastated. I think I also made a remark about how I liked aboutsoandthis' game better then yours. Anyway its been two years since then and I just can't believe that you are still posting I went to Iraq and when I came back everything here has kinda changed for me. It all kind of seems a little unreal at times... Anyhow I guess it was just cool to see that something hasn't changed after all this time and I was wondering if I could get a demo of whatever game you got in the making right now that would fuckin make my day. And in my defense I snorted 4 shoelaces of adderol when I wrote that last post on page 44 of this forum.

-PEACE Miescool KEEP ON KEEPIN ON NUKKA!
