Dude I know....

If I could find like one or two other people to help, Id love to make a set of non rtp, non ripped, fully origonal chips... But nobody really does chips...

Id like to have  custom sets, but its too daunting making a full games worth of chips myself.

And Teams dont seem to fly here. Not to bash the community, but people seem pretty non-commital.Otherwise Id start a custom Chipset project...But Im also so busy trying to get the base work for Genia established, so time is scarce, and its unmotivating being the only one working on it. But the chipsets are half the reason I got my Graphics Tablet in the first place.

So alas, Ive resigned myself to editing XP's RTP.

okay, here is a town.  It is right below a castle.  There aren't any doors because of they are going to be events.  Plus can you comment on the four screens i had earlier?  I got remarks by Ocean, but no one else.

The town is nice but you should have put more detial on the grass.Such as rocks or a diifrent shade of grass.But the layout was nice.Try to add 1 more house by the river.

I'd like to know why there is only one raised area in the entire town, kinda seems like it isn't right to me.

the town is kind of on a hill kind of thing, and the raised area is actually a shop inside.
...sorry if I confused you.

Here is the edited map. did i put the new house in the right spot? I also added a small graveyard. And some different grasses

Thanks for the complement earlier, and Meiscool posts a bit, and some others do, I guess that is just because that we want opinions.  I post maps about a day or so after I make them, except for the opening cut I had shown before, that was like a minute after I made them...
Here is a map, it is also part of my beginning.

@AFL
Nice map but one thing caught my attention. If it is a town built into a hill then (not saying what you have is impossible) wouldn't it make more sense for the river to be running vertical instead of horizontal. I guess that is just being nitpicky but it caught my attention.

@Rirue

I actually do like that map. my only complaints would be with things I know rpg maker just does so no complaints with you. ^^

I think the thread needs a kick in the pants. These are for my contest game. I've been working all day on it. It feels like it's taking forever!

Just so you know, things like the bubbles and the fire will be a bit more transparent in the game. I admit, they're a little rushed and sucky looking.

One more thing, my personal problem with this thread comes from just mapping instead of trying to show an actual screenshot. I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, but you post the little 320*240 screens in you game thread and not giant pics of maps.

In some cases, you can do this, but this is only if you create a new chipset style or something like what Meiscool does. I can't really say this about you two

Rirue: Your town looks okay, but after playing Devil Hunter, it looks like you copied the style and everything. I'm not calling you a thief, I'm just saying a screenshot of that really isn't necessary.

A Forgotten Legend: Slightly the same problem. It’s a well thought out interior, but it isn’t that hard to make a small room like that. There isn’t much to comment on. I’d rather see this with some people and some dialogue.

One more thing I noticed, that town at the top of the page you used is a Mac & Blue/Refmap chipset. This room is Terranigma. If you start using chipset styles that clash already, your game will look much uglier. Try to mactch your chipsets by the Game/Spriter it came from, Game Company, or Color. Take it from me as I used to do it all of the time. :)
