We need to stop bitching about our decline and DO SOMETHING about it. For example, on Wikipedia, one of their major guidelines is Be bold: if you have an idea to improve the forum, go ahead and do it (as much as you can, of course). The worst thing that can happen is that people start flaming each other; it happens. Best case, we get some enjoyment out of it for a little while.

Okay, you guys want to change? Here's how to:

Step 1 - Stop posting about the forum going downhill. It's depressing.

Step 2 - Actually do something about it to make this place better. Stop waiting for contests to make resources, just do them, doesn't matter how crappy they are.

Step 3 - Change this dark blue background. It's classic, okay, but it's a depressing color. Plusd, if you guys want to start anew (as I been hearing) that's a good start.

Step 4 - People don't do requests. Deal with it. Seriously, I've been felt somewhat forced to try to make requests sometimes because people say "Those who can do requests should."

Step 5 - Make more thread that suggest interactivity. Forum games like word-association are one kind, but I remember once having a photoshop game, where people had to take a picture that other guy made and photoshop it somehow. That's some interactive game right there.

Step 6 - Write. Silly. Stuff. It's good to you.

Step 7 - Write happy stuff. Most threads I see here are about bad things that happenned.
See Almeida, as an example, he made a thread about a silly joke he saw, about various countries and 2 cows, and if that wasn't the best thread I saw in times, I don't know what is it.

Step 8 - Write new stuff. 'Cause news happen every phucking day. In another forum I go, a guy posted some news of a giant squid. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17506125/site/newsweek/
 People like this kind stuff.

Step 9 - Change yourselves. I mean, who else isn't tired of seeing Razor's avatar? I' sure am. This might not help the forum, but it will help my eyes.

Step 10 - Stop living in the past. Charas was good, yes, 10/11 people left, Red Giant, GC, beetwen others. Crying of oh how the past was great won't help us as it won't help the real old people. Instead of crying on how the new members aren't the old members, enjoy the new members because they are who they are.

Roland, I'd have to agree with this, even if the wording is a bit harsh.
You did only join last month, so I doubt you could really have noticed a decline (like you said you had in a previous post).
Nothing noticeably bad has even happened this year, unless maybe you include that whole Rayne nonsense where quite a few people acted poorly.
But thank your lucky socks you haven't seen troll action. That's when it gets hectic.

Oh, and are you happy now, Grandy? ;)

I find it funny that 80% of the suggested ideas in this thread were already suggested in 3.0.

Oh, and we don't have code access yet, so any site-improving ideas will have to wait until Alex gives us the okay about the new server. In the meantime, CHILL THE **** OUT. Charas deserves improvements, it doesn't need them.

Oh, and Roland, you have not seen Charas at it's worst. I guarantee you that. Spend a little more time before you make judgment.

Everybody take off you manginas.

THERE ARE THINGS IN THE WORKING TO MAKE THIS PLACE BETTER.
QUIT BEING SISSIES. GO VENT IN THE UN-MODED FORUM. TAKE A BREATH. ITS NOT GOING DOWN HILL. ITS NOT EVEN STAGNANT. ITS STRIVING TO IMPROVE.

And its not going to improve if everyone takes rev seriously.

I mean, Sure, Rev is a douchy bish sometimes...But seriously, hes the funniest 'rican on this forum, and we need his stupid to balance out the awesome that is gemini.

Seriously, getting your panties in a knot is not accomplishing. Suck it up.

This one time, I threw a hissy. And I was all "UGGGH....IHM LEEFFING"

And then everyone was all "YOU IS A BISH"

And then I lurked. And I relized I was a bish. And that being a bish wasn't helping anyone. So I Apologized for being a bish,  And when I accepted my inner bish, and just focused on HAVING FUN IN A RPG GAMING FORUM, it was alot better of an experience for all. And now my estrogen level is like...well....down.

Seriously....Roland....Man up. Type with your Testicles, and not your ovaries. Be a cool dude, and not a....um..... just be cool. everyone.

Or be killed by the powers of the flames of my cursed blade of METAAAAL.

What about doing some forum rearranging?

Like right now the board containing games and requests, maybe place it into it's own board called projects or something.

~Project stuff???~

~Requests
~RPGs games
~Action games
~Shooter games
~Stradigy games
~etc

Might make it easier to keeo track of posts dealing with what and where, and easier for others to roam through the game section, rather then just clicking on a game and guessing what it is by reading. Could just click on a genre you might be interested in and check out projects from there...

Just another idea...

Admittedly, just how often are boards for shooter games going to be used for an RPG Maker website? :P

All you guys worrying about getting more focused on games, that was one of the key focuses of 3.0 and one of the features we're going to try and implement is an actual games section of the site that is way more organized and will help people showcase their games and such. So don't worry, we've got you covered.

That's another thing. A only-RPG maker forum strikes me as not so-good idea. And that's not something I just though on the spot, I've been wondering for a while.
Why not making it a general games forum which supports RPGM?

Hey, I have a pretty good idea! And proof that I think best at 4 am...
First, to Rev: Sorry, man. Insomnia makes me a bit grouchy and I'd like to apologize for being a douche. Same goes to everyone else.
Second, my idea: To make the forum a bit more fun, why don't we first off make the introductory topic mandatory in order to post, that way we both reduce the number of spambots (if charas has any) and get rid of newbs posting a request as a first topic? And second, why not update the general atmosphere and give charas a unique look, such as a 16-bit theme? It might liven the place up, IMO. I think it might help a bit more than my prior idea...
EDIT: Actually, my major complaint other than the design it how freakin' long it takes to load on my sloow-*** computer. Oh well, I'm getting a new one soon.
EDIT2: Also, another thing that could liven the site up would be an RPG-like interface, where you have either a generic or custom avatar. The different categories could be buildings and the forums different rooms. How's that sound?
