Because at least GC would fess up when he was called on it. Carmen though would claim she did nothing bad and that everyone else was flat out to get her. It made it very difficult for the staff to agree on anything.

Carmen was also quite a bit more blatent and didn't care who she pissed off, since she was a mod and criticizing a mod was "highly inappropriate."

My theory, it's simple...
You see, I think people who come here today, they don't come here just to hang out. They come because our logo basically says "RPG-making site", and they probably think that either this is a good place to gain some rpg-maker expertise or that this would be a good place to publish their games without being hung in a tree by flamers (I'm hinting at gamingw, not Meiscool :p).

The reason they leave? It's because we lack the rpg-making. The majourity of our great mod crew has got no interest in rpg-making anymore, and that has effected the entire site and I believe that has played a part as to why our rpg-making interest has gone downhill. Not only new guys but some old members leaves because of the same reason. We don't care about their games or rpgmaker needs.

You want to fix charas? Then you fix our initiative in rpg-making.

It's just a theory...

I wounder if just adding a new spam thread would fix the issues. Humm Contests help, but even now contests I have seen, dont get a whole lot of contestants. Requests tend to be ignored or unanswered, game criticisium in some topics get ripped apart, and half the time they are new to the forums.

Pretty much all the teams have abandoned their topics, and I hardly see anyone post there anymore like they used to back about 2 years ago.

The gaming forums seem very active compared to everything on this site. Gaming forums and All of All.

if any admins have access to the forums main ftp, maybe installing an arcade system might come in handy with bordem, can even hold contests if you get the right mods.

However I dont think anyone but Alex has access to doing this...

Humm not sure I have any good ideas at the moment, I will try to think it over and observe a few things...

I agree with Robotam's theory, but I'll also say that Charas has gained a good reputation for people helping others (God knows how), and that's actually turning out to be a bad thing. Newbies come here and make their requests, and automatically think that their request will be fulfilled. Like we're only here to serve them and it's their God-given right for us to do their requests or something.

Might I remind you that in many cases, when these newbies are told how to "do it themselves", even if this is totally supportive, they fly off the handle and want everything done for them.

Maybe this is just my interpretation of the facts. But as I see it, the whole "this is an RPG Maker site, and I've heard that people do requests, so that means that they'll immediately want to make me 500 KH charsets and if they don't I'll flame them like the retard I am" attitude has to end for Charas to get back to being happy.

My second point: is it possible to set up some sort of counter to tell us how many "hits" the Generators get and how many "hits" the Forums get? It'd be good, at least for me, to see whether it's the whole site that's dying off, or just the Forums. People still use the Generators, and they don't need to register on the Forums and make the effort of being a decent member to do that, do they?

For the most part, I agree with Robotam and Dragonium.
(Thanks for that in the Kingdom Hearts thread).

To me, this site just needs some fun. The C-Box was fun, but when entire topics and focused ideas came into it, it died. Drace's "Off Topic" thread was awesome, but it died off too. Hopefully this "Unmodded Thread" will go somewhere. :p

As to the games, you have to realize that games nomatter how big or small take time. I was just talking about this with Drenrin once. My main project was being continuously deleted. I put a lot of time and effort into it. So I told him I would still continue to work on it, but that I would work on it less. I would instead focus on making smaller games.

Even though these games are small, they are not finished. Are they not finished because I do not have the incentive to finish them? No, I'm still working on them. You just have to realize that these games take time. Just wait...stop complaining...
Once summer vacation or something rolls around, you will see an explosion.

I don't think this place is in a slump, but that's just me. I would rather live my life and come back to find a techical masterpiece in the summer, rather than come here every day to post "FINISH FINISH FINISH FINISH...this place sucks"

I know its been mentioned before or something similar but thats where I've been pretty much the whole month of March when I left....

I know there may be alot of con's to it...just suggesting it again...

And I've come to agree with alot of things that have already mentioned...

My only excuse other than lack of time for not having a demo or anything for my game is I'm still trying to figure out how to make my cms still which I want before even thinking of a release....

Edit: Tried promoting by telling friends and family to add to the new member list but I'm the oly one who even uses the program...

I'd have to agree that in the short time I've been here, charas has gone a bit downhill. I think that in order to fix it, there should be slightly stricter ban policies, IE a warning system that goes from, say, 1-10. If you do something moderately bad like spam you get 1 point of warn, but if you blatantly break rules, you're banned. I think charas could learn a lot from these forums: http://forums.saber-scorpion.com/index.php?act=idx
Also, I think that members like Rev911 that flame excessively and make fun of people and crap like that are a major part of the problem.

Good idea, but what ranks a 1 and what ranks a 10?  To different people different things don't seem as bad as others may see them.  There would have to be set guidelines.  For no discrepancies.  Like a 1 are these things and a 2 is this and so on.

Hmmm... Well, the forums I linked to have a pretty cool intro/rules comic strip on the first page that gives a brief outline. I think something like that would help set the rules in stone, so to speak.

You can all learn something from this man.

Also, you guys are such whiners.  All Charas has done for like the past 2 years has complained about going downhill. Its getting really really old.  Not to mention, NO ONE besides ZKX, Meiscool, and maybe Archem can take a joke without pissing his pants on this forum.  Every fun topic that opens gets ruined because these strict mods scream "SPAM."  This forum needs to LIGHTEN THE **** UP.  Hell, you people even CENSOR CURSE WORDS.  We're not some ****ing daycare here.

Oh, and Roland.  I told you to join a chess forum. Get over it. This is exactly what I mean.  Plus you saw me post in ONE THREAD.
