Indeed. Plus it was made during the drafting of the game. Who knows what the plot was before they made it what it is. Hell, the early screens and designs for OoT had its name as "Link to the Future" and featured a fight with Gohma as adult Link. So stfu.

You miss the point. When you see whining about something character specific that is not canon, it isn't a boycott, it's shock at how someone such as Sakurai can put randomnosity on things as fragil as canon. Yes the game isn't canon,  we all know that. But sakurai said that it's like each characters comes from it's own canon world, just for an instance. When i got to know Wolf was using the Landmaster, I just downright thought that was damn lazy. They already had models of the arwings, why no repaint it, and use that as the final smash? It just didnt make sense to me.

Super Smash Bros. is nerdgasm for Nintendoids. If there's something not right about the history of any character, it is considered lame. I mean, Sakurai put all these cool references to many games (Link's intro being a nod to the warp flute, one of Toon Link's costumes reflecting that of Link's older designs), but can't seem to stick to character canonicity. It's basically blasphemy of the highest order.

I've been playing videogames since I was two, and I don't find it the least bit offensive, or blasphemous.

Yes, you've been playing video games. But does that make you a Nintendoid? No. A real Nintendoid knows at least half his ****, even more than half. He should, because he should know a lot about Nintendo, about the games, about the history of the characters. Nintendoids know that Link is always left-handed, that Mario never came from Brooklyn but was just born in the Mushroom Kingdom, that Star Fox Adventures originally was a Rare original just called Dinosaur Planet before Nintendo decided to make it a Star Fox game, that Mario was never actually called Jumpman but was given this nickname because he didn't have a name in Donkey Kong, that Samus is an woman orphaned by Ridley, that Sakurai is both the creator of the Kirby franchise and Super Smash Bros. franchise, that Fire Emblem almost always follow the rule of two games per story which subsequently means no character can appear in more than two games asides from the few exceptions in which a Fire Emblem story had three games.

It's not so much that he's violating canon, it's that he's violating canon to save his own arse.
We all know wolf's landmaster is a last second colour switch, does he really think he's fooling anyone?

I think it's still blasphemy, and a lot of real Nintendoids agree.

I know all that and more, and I still don't give a ****. You know why, because I still have enough of my dignity to realize they're bloody games.

But his point is just that they could've put a little bit more work into the game to make it correct. The landmaster is the proof of their lack of time/whatever.
The game could've been a greater blessing to all if just a tiny detail like that could have been changed.

But I believe that all the other contents pretty much makes up for it... Except the game's lack of mario pills now of course.

Yeah, but the people that said they were being lazy need to be stabbed in the face. At a certain point you have to declare something done. They already delayed it at least twice and packed far more stuff into the game than anyone was remotely expecting. I mean, designing your own stages? That's pipe dream stuff. I couldn't give less of a damn what Wolf's final smash looks like or how it lines up with Star Fox canon continuity. I'm just happy the concept of final smahes is in the game at all.

THANK YOU.

Although if I have only one vice with this game, it's that there is no Tom Nook.

I would've rather not have the stage builder for a better looking roster and better Final Smashes that actually made sense. I've seen the thing on work, and read several times from good smash fans that it's somewhat limited (pieces by set).

It is not lazy to the game as a whole. DO NOT MISINTERPRET THAT. It's lazy on certain character's  movesets. not only do we get 6 'semi'-clones, but we also get to see 5 of those 6 final smashes that look certainly VERY alike. They prove they could make something good with a weird character such as ROB, who was probably one of the noteable first decisions they had to bring back something very retro, yet they were not integrate enough into the other characters, which they very much could, because they were more focused on other modes such as the stage builder, spectator mode, and online homerun contest, masterpieces.

on TOP of that we get a character with an original moveset cut, when crap like clone falco comes back.

To me, yes its a sort of lazyness; leaving to do something important for something else that's  less important.

Well, after looking at the new stages one coem to the conclusion that a Stage builder is just in place...

But yeah, cloning a clone is my only problem so far... We won't get the game 'till may-june-july so I'll see what I can complain about then.
