Originally posted by GaryCXJkSuper Smash Bros. is nerdgasm for Nintendoids. If there's something not right about the history of any character, it is considered lame. I mean, Sakurai put all these cool references to many games (Link's intro being a nod to the warp flute, one of Toon Link's costumes reflecting that of Link's older designs), but can't seem to stick to character canonicity. It's basically blasphemy of the highest order.

Originally posted by GaryCXJkYes, you've been playing video games. But does that make you a Nintendoid? No. A real Nintendoid knows at least half his ****, even more than half. He should, because he should know a lot about Nintendo, about the games, about the history of the characters. Nintendoids know that Link is always left-handed, that Mario never came from Brooklyn but was just born in the Mushroom Kingdom, that Star Fox Adventures originally was a Rare original just called Dinosaur Planet before Nintendo decided to make it a Star Fox game, that Mario was never actually called Jumpman but was given this nickname because he didn't have a name in Donkey Kong, that Samus is an woman orphaned by Ridley, that Sakurai is both the creator of the Kirby franchise and Super Smash Bros. franchise, that Fire Emblem almost always follow the rule of two games per story which subsequently means no character can appear in more than two games asides from the few exceptions in which a Fire Emblem story had three games.
Originally posted by ZeroKirbyXI know all that and more, and I still don't give a ****. You know why, because I still have enough of my dignity to realize they're bloody games.
Originally posted by SaiKarYeah, but the people that said they were being lazy need to be stabbed in the face. At a certain point you have to declare something done. They already delayed it at least twice and packed far more stuff into the game than anyone was remotely expecting. I mean, designing your own stages? That's pipe dream stuff. I couldn't give less of a damn what Wolf's final smash looks like or how it lines up with Star Fox canon continuity. I'm just happy the concept of final smahes is in the game at all.
