There was the train bombing in Britain a while back, but no HUGE ones... the terrorists are too tied up having the Americans in their countries...

I think you misunderstood my post Grandy, I wasn't telling you that you should mourn the Americans. I was speaking to Akaroku who was being a dick. I don't mourn for the Americans, but I won't go around saying BOO HOO. People died, I don't give a damn who the people were, they were murdered, and I'll be respectful about that. It COULD have happened to someone I know, and I know that would have been traumatic, so I am respectful about it, and for the people who did lose someone.

Grandy, I won't mourn for the brazilian people who die anymore than I will for any other people I don't know, but I'm not going to tell you, or anyone else to "Get over it" like Akaroku did.

And geez... How did this thread get so goofy? I was laughing pretty hard about Grandy's mistake of wrench with wench, and Dragonium's correction.

Oh, you better mourn for us brasillians, YOU BETTER DO! OR ELSE! *shakes fist*

Also, I just quoted you and wrote something in the general direction of what you were saying, not really aiming at anything.

I suddenly remember why I love this place.

On a side note, I just remembered that Deval Patrick, one of the stupider politicians I've ever had the misfortune to meet called the events of 9/11 "mean, nasty, and bitter".

I love Deval Patrick - He's doing so much for the state.  Could you imagine if he had that B otch I don't even remember her name - as governer - who to me seemed to only want to remain in office to have a job and the status of.  Trust me we're so much better off.

Love Deval Patrick - Love.

Oh, I used to worship Loose Change like the frickin' Bible, but now -- I really don't think about it. And by 'it,' I mean either possibility. I just don't care. It was well-made, though, yeah...

I agree with Archem 1000% on the island thing. I want to be some sort of builder. Jim the builder. Best builder there ever was on charas island.

Also, Gabriel, sure, come over to England :p I recommend Kent.

I've seen it, and from what I've seen of it's creator, he's just a punk out to stir up trouble and make money. Did you ever read the Popular Science (I think) article that debunked the most common 9/11 conspiracies. It's really funny because they make more sense then the conspiracy reasons.

I haven't - but I will.  See I went crazy when I saw that movie - I got so angry - that for a week I planned on wearing a stenciled t-shirt promoting that film - all I had was a black sweater and it was hot - and I looked rediculous - so I gave up after the second day and nobody cared.

But this year - having government class - I thought about it - my conscience said that nobody from this country would plan 9/11 for the sake of greed - and achieving some other motive.

Its funny the other government class put that movie on the day of 9/11 - I was thrilled and I was so happy that I lived in MA.

My government class put on the film "9/11" the documentary that was supposed to be about the life of a rookie firefighter - but turned into a film about 9/11.  It was good - it showed the event from inside the towers and it wasn't promotional.  My government teacher - loathe him - one of those people that went crazy after 9/11 happened - a real "patriot".  What kind of informed teacher leaves Fox News on the television set during the whole class?  When I say crazy I mean irrational and unreasonable.

I'm sorry if I dissed on your news channel - watch "Out Fox."  Bill O'Reilly what a cuddly oaf.

" [In Darfur, t]he most recent data analyses suggest that 400,000 people have died as a result of the ongoing genocide, with a total of 3.5 million conflict-affected persons."

Stop whining about 3,000 Americans that died 6 years ago and do something about real issues. Give equal weight to tragedies that happen in non-English speaking countries as you do to relatively small tragedies in English speaking countries.

People get so wrapped up in the past because it feels more immediate to them than the present that happens half a world away. Open your eyes.

As for loose change, it's bullshit. They knew about it, but they didn't directly it.

A good signature - would be one of awareness of other conflicts on the world - possibly the death tolls such as in Darfur.  Bring some awareness - without the force that seems so hot in your message.

To me not many people here seem that crazy or "whiny" about 9/11.  I don't know many people who are - its a tragedy that is reserved in respect to the victims of 9/11 - it doesn't loom in our hearts everyday except for that day.

Can you really blame others for not talking about Darfur?  Our "News" - America's media news corporations don't give any time to Darfur - Journalists aren't allowed into that country to begin with - there isn't ever a rally cry shown on the big news stations such as Fox "News", CNN, and MSNBC - which there should be.  Television news sources are mostly isolated in this country or in Iraq with bias.

If your looking for good news to listen to National Public Radio look up the station for your area - the news coverage is from 4 - 7 pm eastern.  World news - told with soothing voices - without hardly any bias except one of a conscientious heart - the plus side is that you can listen to it without having to put your eyes on the television so you can be programming in Rm2k3 - occasionally you'll accidently put in the death tolls of Darfur for the amount of damage an enemy does to you - that enemy being the Janjaweed Militia you being the people of Darfur (bad joke - horribly bad joke - get angry)

Then there is Democracy Now which is on the net.

Al Jazier News I hear is a good news source.

BBC news comes on at like 6 on PBS.

Point being people aren't informed well enough - I only heard of the genocide of Darfur in world history class last year.

...Wow. I'm gone for one night to go play Magic an hour from where I live and this topic explodes into eight pages. We should go back to the randomness, the discussion about other tragedies ended way back, on like page four or five.

Anyway... Archem, can I be an advisor or chancellor of some sort? Please?? I have saltines.... Three packages of saltines...
