Why I don't like:
Obama - I don't quite understand in what direction he is going with his plans. He seems to boast optimism, which works for the morale of the general public, but his plans seem to be more focused on that than actual substance. For example, he promises health care will no longer be a problem (people like this part), but he says it will be because those who can't afford can buy into a government plan. If you can't afford health care, then how can you buy into help from the government? I won't say all of his plans are directionless, as some seem really good, but there were too many that just seemed like they wouldn't go anywhere to me. In addition, I don't feel like he has much of a handle on foreign affairs. Besides the fact that he doesn't seemed too focused on international politics in general, I think leaving Iraq all at once because all of America is begging for it is wrong. Now that we're there, we need to slowly begin moving out, not departing in a short time period like 6 months. Finally, I don't particularly trust this man. People want to kill me for this, but it's just my personal feeling. Who IS he? There are so many different accounts of his past that I couldn't even figure out anything definite about him before 2004. It seems strange that he gained so much popularity such a short amount of time after America went to the Middle East. Overall, I hope my skepticism is wrong, but I just don't trust him.

McCain - Well, I'm more on the democratic side anyway, so I generally don't agree with Republican policies, especially socially. Continuing along with health care as a specific example, though, while Obama's seems to have no direction to me, McCain's appeared to be going in a bad direction. He wanted to continue funding insurance companies to leech money from the middle class consumer and tried to make up for it by saying he'd give people $5,000 for health care. That wouldn't pay for much, whether insurance or hospital bills. Also, I didn't care for McCain's "we'll stay in Iraq forever if we have to" plan. Finally, as a last specific example besides the fact that I generally don't agree with Republican social policies, the baby boomer generation is losing so much money that they have put away under the GOP. It's not fair how much money has been lost in investments and savings that people worked for.

Palin - Well, this seems to be the general consensus, so it shouldn't be as hard for most people to understand me here. She just doesn't know nearly enough to be VP, and it would have been worse to have McCain and die and have her take over. She does know about energy because she's from Alaska, but that's where it ends. She literally said on national television that she had to be told what the vice president did. Overall, her lack of knowledge and experience in politics just made her a poor choice.

Now I wonder who will read all of this.

I am very upset that people are hating him because he is black! It's really pushing me to the limit! Why can't we have a black president? Whats so wrong with that? It was not a written rule that White men are the only people allowed to run. I also would like to say that I did not vote or say I want Obama to win for his color. I watched his speech a while ago ( dont remember when ) and was blown away by it. I am very very happy that he won and hope that he does bring a good change to America.
To all those opposed.... welll....

sorry about that but I really needed to get that off my chest...

To be honest, a lot of black rulers are not great. I mean, look at Africa. They have serious problems there. But the same is going on there, they don't want to see a white man sitting at the throne of a black country. Racial hate is everywhere and some people are just judging people because of that. So, let's hope that Obama does well as a president and not as a black guy so that they can at least have respect for him.

I like how once you mention black people assume it means hate. Mother fuckers can't realize that "African-American" is a retarded-*** term that realistically makes no sense.

I like how people call Gov. Palin inexperienced when she's just as inexperienced as (or perhaps even more experienced than) President Elect Obama. As far as the being told what the VP has to do I'm pretty sure that was reaching out to America's funny bone and trying to familiarize with the electorate rather than a gaff. If you're going to attack Gov. Pailin's 'gaffs' you definitely shouldn't overlook VP Elect Biden's.

I dislike President Elect Obama because he is a leftist. Not a democrat, a leftist.

I dislike VP Elect Biden because he is an idiot.

I dislike Sen. McCain because of the fallibility of his campaign.

I really have no beef with Gov. Palin. I'm angry with the media because they ripped her a new one, but other than that, I have no issue.

Also, yeah I agree. The 'race card' has been played waaaaaaaaaaaay too much in this campaign by complete freaking ignoramuses. I could go off on a whole tangent about that, and I'm sure you could too, Zeek.

Rev, how did governor Palin not deserve what she got? Are you saying that she doesn't deserve her position as governor of Alaska, or rather she didn't deserve to be selected by Senator McCain as a running mate?

EDIT::::: I see what you're saying. You mean she didn't deserve what she got from the media. Sorry.

Are you aware that the previous governor of Alaska injected his daughter into the United States Senate? I'll personally give my support to Gov. Palin simply because of that. But that's not the state I live in, so it's not my decision.

The fact of the matter is, Palin was chosen by the McCain campaign to give them a more 'everyman' face. I'll tell you one thing she doesn't have as much experience with as President Elect Obama: Money. Sarah Palin makes a upper-average income, she is as close to an 'average 'joe-sixpack'' as you'll see anywhere in the political realm. President Elect Obama; however, sat on a board controlling of millions of dollars to give to Chicago schools, but not a dime of that money was spent on text books or developing curriculum or even renovating public buildings. The money was spent to turn students into activists against the American government.

CNN was completely in the bag for Obama, btw. But since you have an opinion on politics too I guess you're a self-proclaimed politics master. Unless you want to give me an example of somebody on a 'high horse' in this thread, I kinda think it's you.

What it all boils down to is: I place more value upon personal rights, freedoms, and exceptionalism than I place on equality. I believe the Republican party supports that, the Democratic party resists it, and Leftists are trying to turn it completely around.

She basically came out and said she didn't know a lot. I'm not exactly sure how much clearer it's supposed to get. As for Biden, I really don't know much about him, so I left him out.

Also, Bart_Fatima, I really hope your post wasn't referring to me, because absolutely nowhere did I say anything about Obama being bad because he was black. He isn't even really black anyway. That's actually more of what concerns me. If he WAS actually black I'd be much more comfortable. His foggy heritage and questionable actions concern me.

well, i watch c-span all the time. so i didn't just suddenly take an interest in politics on November 4th. Ya know, the VP's job is really... well lame. They don't do anything. They preside over the senate and decide tie votes (how often does that happen). Pretty much they just sit around on their ass all day hoping that the president dies. However, in my opinion, Sarah Palin isn't even qualified enough to do that.
