Ah! Okay I thought it was somthing like that. I love these battlers, but you can't use normal weapons for them. Also do you use the same style on you chars as you do you battle charas?

I'm gonna bust out some lovely weapon sets as soon as I finish a request and some re-colors of my previous battle charas. I haven't made charsets for these yet, but I'll probably do them in a similar style, because I have some weird need to be a special and unique snowflake and make special charsets that'll stick out like a sore thumb if you try to fit them in with regular ones.

Hmm I'm the opsitite. If all my chara sets don't have the same style I flip out and have to edit them till they do.

Okay, I ran into some big problems trying to recolor my sprites, because I did stupid things like use the same color for the hair as the shoes and the outline of the skin for the shirt and stuff like that. But I fixed it (or most of it), so I went ahead and recolored some of the female sprite. I also added two new poses for firing a pistol or rifle and for using a two-handed weapon, since no one in their right mind can hold a scythe or a buster sword with one hand.

Gonna work on the fixing the male next and adding the new poses. Then -- I swear -- I'm going to make some cool weapon sets that will work for 'em. Seriously.

Thanks! Here are the boys. Working on the weapon sets now, but I gotta tell ya, it's harder than it looks. Half the fun is getting the damn weapon handles to align with the battle sets' hands.

The easiest way I have found is to actually copy the attacking pose of the battle character, erase everything but their hands, make sure that the weapon you're creating is always on top of the hands, then erase what remains of them.

I thought of that and did do it, but for some reason it didn't align. Come to think of it, it probably didn't align because I based it on the left-handed attack pose, and the game insists on using the right-handed pose only. Damn.

EDIT: Okay, I got one that looks good, so the rest will surely follow.

They look good. I like how you used diffrent nationalities it shows you have a truly flexible mind. You have a good looking chance to be a great graphic deisinger after the recesion is over.

Thank you, I sure hope so. ^^

All right, here is my first attempt at weapons, a set of swords. These only work for the right-handed pose, but I may make another set for lefties if it seems necessary. I'm planning on making a lot more swords, but I figure I should make a set for each type of weapon first with just generic Medieval-era kinds.

From top to bottom: generic longsword, scimitar, rapier, falchion, shortsword, sabre, flamberge, shotel

Yeah, all characters are right-handed in combat. Though if you make them able to equip a second weapon, the weapon in the second hand will use the left-handed slot. Alternatively you could just switch the animations for left and right hands to make them attack with their left hand by default, but that opens up a whole new can of alignment issues.

Weapons look pretty good, if a bit standard.

I'm not keen on the top sword or the fifth one down... Seem a bit spritesize style to me. All the others look pretty good! :)

I agree, weapons look good but are a bit standard, but that's ok. I've seen original weapons that just look silly and unusable. XD They look pretty good anyways.

Hard to make those straight-edge swords look anything other than stiff.

And I'll make ridiculous, flashy swords. Just wanted to start off with the basics.

Perhaps directed to me, hm? :P

The weapons look pretty good. I'm especially fond of the fourth one (the blue jagged one) - consider that design stolen. ;)

Also, don't limit yourself to just swords. There's many, many more varieties of weapons out there than just plain old swords, and considering you're doing this for an RPG project, it doesn't have to be usable in the real world to be usable in-game - remember, in any type of game, "coolness" overrules practicality.
