Angel Walter's Unconvincing Tablet Drawings! (Now in Technicolor(c)!)
« on: December 31, 2009, 06:07:43 PM »
I've decided to finally get round to posting some of my art! I only got my computer tablet at Christmas so I'm still practicing but I'd still like some constructive criticism...
This is just a random picture.

This is my character for a Tabletop RPG I'm playing with a group of friends.

Sorry! I put this in the wrong section accidentally! Could someone move it to creative arts please?

You got a friggin' tablet?  Lucky SOB.  Looks good for a random doodle.

...I'm thinking of getting a tablet.  Either that, or a Mosin Nagant.

Tablets are awesome. Although for the record, I prefer using them for coloring only.

Also, note that arms are a lot longer than that. They go down about halfway from the waist to the knees.

Arms go down a bit past the waist usually. A few inches from the knees but not on the knees unless the arms are LONG.

Midway to thigh is where the palms go, methinks. There's a bit of room for discrepancy. The picture I'm currently checking actually has the fingerthips going down to mid thigh, where my personal test has my palm down there. Again, discrepancy. Some people have slightly longer arms than others.

Exactly. There are some variety in arm lengths.

Don't worry, Lucas, I know what you're saying. I'm having a bit of trouble getting used to drawing with the tablet. But could you explain why they look flat (apart from the complete lack of shading)?
I had a feeling that I shouldn't post this stuff. I'm only an amateur... Ah well, too late now...

Yeah, just keep practicing. I find it helps to sketch a rough body template before drawing, so you get the proportions basically right.

Well I have a slightly hunched-back so my palms are nearly ON my knees...they're still not long though.
And I forget where I was going with this...
but stop complaining bout the arms persons...sure they're disturbingly short, but as angel said..MATUER.
things can only improve..

unless you're arms actually ARE that short...
or you're a hunchback...
