Oh yeah, on Prpl's suggestion I had another 'frame by frame' scene or two I was working on for possible inclusion but I don't really mind if we don't get them in (they're about half done). They might not end up fitting anyway...

Hey guys. I've started working on the game now. So far I fixed a couple of bugs in chapter 1 and made the title screen. Still need to play through the game and make the post credit mini game. It will probably take one to two weeks before I'm done.

Well now didn't you come through in a big way Red! I love how complimentary and stylish it looks. Donut is right you did 90% of the work or more. Though it hi-lights one has fact:  I am unable to do custom time sets. =< I need fix this before the next chain game. Also may I say this style was such a delight we should use it again? Cause it was.

Glad you guys like it, but you're giving me way too much credit. A lot of people (including yourselves) have dedicated a lot of energy and time to make this game what it is. Each person bringing their own strengths and views on games to the table. And I think we have done a great job with it. I'm very pleased with the results.

Yeah, been thinking the same thing actually. Thinking we could compile all the resources we made for the game and put it up in a gallery thread. If we continue to make chain games in this still we could fill up the gallery with more stuff. In the end we'll have big library of resources to use for our games.


Anyway, I've started playing the game. So far I haven't reached any parts I haven't played before. I'll write down notes, bugs, and such as I go along.

Yay Shanon was used! I'm happy for that. I also agree with Red's idea of a Chain Game Resource database full of potential pre-generated  resources. It'll help people who have a hard time with one specific type or it'll be like my own massive resource database. I sometimes look through it and even though I see things that work? I get inspired to think of an idea for a chapter at the least.

Hey, small update. I've started playing the game again. And just finished chapter 4. And damn Moose, it was really fun. I really liked the intro and the dungeon design was fun too.

I also fixed some stuff as I went along.

Chapter 1:
- Some random bugs here and there.
- Some broken monster encounters.
- Some spelling mistakes.
- Tweaked some maps
- Might have also added another secret area.

Chapter 2:
- I think I managed to fix all the broken collision stuff
- Fixed some map tiling in the forest map and the outside glimmer cave area.
- Fixed some decorating events that had the wrong layer on them

Still needs to be fixed:
- Spelling mistakes here and there
- Maybe add a save point after the goblim village. Really annoying if you die before you reach the lodge and have to rewatch everything.

Chapter 3:
- Fixed so you can't pick up infinitely coins and pens
- Made sleeping animations for the guards.
- Made custom character art for "Bert the Perv" + Distraction animations for him and the doctor
- Shaded the trees to fit in with the rest of the art better
- Added occasional glimmer effects to mark places with pick ups. (Dunno about this one, might be making it too easy. But personally I just find it really frustrating to hunt for items. Donut, let me know if you want me to remove these again)

Chapter 4:
- Fixed the collision on a box
- Fixed a decoration event with the wrong layer

Overall notes & bugs:
- Red Eyes C-stance should maybe be nerfed. Feels way too powerful to reflect every spell. Right now it also reflects spells that targets the whole party and nullifies all the damage. It completely removed all the challenge from the chapter 4 boss.
- If you use the Unity Charm while in the party selection map you will be stuck there forever.


The plan is to finish playing the game this weekend. Should be totally doable.
