No no, I just remember an old history teacher who had a poster that said the Civil war had more losses than the combined allied forces of WWII. I thought it may be wrong though.

WWI was more interesting in my opinion.
All because Franz is a cool name. Franz Ferdinand sounds like it came out of Vagrant Story.

What's the fuss over saying "Germany" vs. saying "The Nazis"?

Just say "Nazi Germany".

It certainly wasn't the same Germany that we have today, but it WAS Germany as a whole (those who disagreed with the Nazis either got locked up and/or slaughtered, or they left the country), not JUST Hitler or the people involved in the Nazi leadership.

Germany's just like everybody else--they've had their moments of crappyness throughout history.

America syndrome? WTF? Gimme a break. We generally have the most casualties in any war. Why? We send in the most troops and we stay the longest. It's fact. If you think we're arrogant, I'll admit, the country as a whole is. However, just because your country doesn't throw themselves out there doesn't give you the right to say that we don't care about everyone else. We just have more people in the fight.

Aside from that, don't get into WWII and go blaming EVERYTHING on the Nazis. Look at Japan. They were just as bad. They killed many Chinese, Koreans, Americans... tons of people in their respective area. Does history ever focus on that? Of course not. The countries and races the Japanese killed don't cry every waking moment about how they were tortured and murdered in WWII. Many of them, if not all, have moved on. However, there are still several bitter Jews (no offense to those who are Jews here) that constantly cry about the Holocaust and are still getting reparations. What the hell? It's over. Done. Finished. If you have to moan to get publicity and try to make people feel guilty, you have a sad life. Yeah, I feel bad about the Holocaust, but to keep pressing the issue and making it the main focus in WWII is beyond me and ridiculous.

Now... to the real topic. May those who died in war rest in peace.

Yeah, many Jews bring that up, which was already apologized for, and was years and years ago. Yet they kill Jesus, and no apology for... you know... Jesus.

There are always ignorant people making ignorant statements like NAZIS SUCK BALLS; pretty much everyone thinks of Germany first when they hear WWII, and when you don't know anything about it, it's only natural to nazi-hate.

Wel, heres where you can say some sentimental thing about all the people who died in WWII. No rascist comments. Do not say Germany, say Nazi Party.

Sorry to burst your bubble here - but Germany DID declare war on poland. It's very easy in a climate of political correctness, and a fear of 'offending' current day peace-loving nations, but the fact remains that Germany was responsible for the death of 70 million that died in WW2.

That's not racist, that's a fact - a cold, historical fact. Will the history books say that, when it came to the war on iraq, it was entirely George Bush and NOT America? I think very much not.

You see, the Nazi party wouldn't have worked unless it had the willingess of the population - in the first instance to vote them in, and the second to go along with the process. All who could have stopped Hitler such as the German industrialists, scientists, technicians & the Military - all German, support him in a lust to restore former WW1 prestigue. The industrialists saw in him a means to make money, and so willingly made weapons banned by international treaty knowing entirley their intention. The Military followed him as he promised revenge for 1918. Leading scientists & doctors supported Nazi racial theories to promote their careers. In short, Germany in 1933 was one of the worlds most culturally and technologically advanced countries in the world; it was educated, had a strong middle class.

Hitler didn't force them, he persuaded them with the power of his twisted philosophy that made a nation believe that they were a master race destined to rule the earth by force.

To blame it entirely on the Nazi party is unjust - Germany is responsible for allowing herself to be persuaded, and history declares it so.

Um, well obviously you don't know that the Nazis brutally mudered any German who went against them, and yes, they did declare war on Poland,

Learn from this guy, Jessica Squirrel. Don't post pics of prisons. It's like porno, it twists your mind. Remember, this is supposed to be memorial of sorts to the people who died.
