Meiscool, it looks like there should be 8 icons on those cards instead of four, so they could attack diagnols. Then again, if you did that, it would be exactly like FF9, so whatever.

Well, now it sorta looks like FFVIII, they had a 3 by whatever grid, as well as being able to flip cards on either top, bottom, left or right. But They only had Number, and some only had attributes. Yours MIC seem to be more in depth version of that kinda. *Didn't really read long post on explaination*

Oh, I remember that card game About. I used to be kinda into it back when I liked pokemon. Isn't it where an enemy is either Virus, Normal, or Supportive, and depending on what type of enemy you are facing is what type of attack you use?

Yeah, my game is basically a rip-off of Triple Triad from FF8. I could do the corners now, but I dunno. It would kinda be overpowering for the card that's put in the middle.

For you coreystranick, a shortened version of my game:

Each card has 4 stats, one on each arrow. Depending on what arrow the stat is on, is which direction that stat attacks in. If ELEMENT is on the right arrow, and you place your card to the left of another card then isn't yours, then a battle will take place based on ELEMENT of that card and your card. If your element can't beat theirs, you win the card. If not, then nothing happens, and your turn ends.

My game is based off the Playstation Version. It's basically the same as the real one, but you get to actually pick your attacks. There are a few differences to make my game a little unique.

There are 180 cards in the game. One for each monster. Each card is assigned its own element. What element they are gives you sort of a background on how the card is used.

There are 6 Elements with 30 monsters in each group. They don't necessarily get attack boost on the other types, but they have slight advantages.

Fire-Large (Circle) attack
Ice-Great of (X) Effects
Thunder-Can switch to other monsters really fast.
Water-Lots of HP
Earth-Great Support Effects
Wind-Extremly Strong but the Support Effects are Risky.

The goal is to beat 3 of your opponents monsters by getting their HP down to zero. You do this by simply attacking.

Attacking is kind of like rock/paper/scissors. That number on your attack is deducted from your opponents HP.

These are where the Effects come in. About 3/4 of the cards in the game have Support Effects. You attatch them to your card after you select an attack but before you use your attack.

There are also X effects which will happen if you select X instead of Circle or Triangle.

It'll be better explained in the game. The Playstation game was very easy to understand and I'm going off of that. You'll have a basic tut ingame, and a second tut in the Tutorial Menu.
================

BTW, I'm replaying FF8 right now. At first I didn't like Triple Triad, now I LOVE it. It's addictive. I've only gotten to Timber on disc 1, an i've got a little over 5 pages worth of cards filled out. Can't wait to play your version. :)

I only ask cause when it's done I want to download it, but my PC's on the verge of dying even though right now I'm only using less than half the space on the computer. Windows ME much?

Well, by the times it's finished, it will probally be around 30 MB (the game folder) which can be sized down to around 24 with winrar.

It's at 23 right now, so I'm actually looking at uppermost filesize. My chipsets and picture/panos take up a lot of space, and I still have lots to do. Every map with lighting effects means a 50 KB (usually less) overlay, and I have a lot of maps with light, so it might get a bit larger. I honestly can't see it going over 30MB though.

Are you making your Wavs smaller?

If you want, after you finish the game I could resize it for you. It would be after I release my game though.

Nope, I haven't bothered with WAV compression yet. I'll probally need to though, because I have A LOT of them that are 70-250 kb.

There's a way to compress them?

I have only wav and mp3 files in my game, so that might help ^^'. Recently file size has been a big issue. It doesn't help that my ultimate paint won't let me save PNGs properly. I have to use bitmaps and they take up a hell of a lot of space.

Hey guys.

Wanna be in my game?

You can!

All you gotta do, is make a Bahamut Lagoon styled sprite of your character/alias/avatar (try shy guy or google for sprites) and post here/send it to me. The colors don't have to be the same as I use, as long as they are similar (no super bright colors and ect). Try to make these human, or humaniod. No dragons or crap. Moose are accepted.

I will only be accepting sprites from more well-known members that have been here for awhile. People like Ace, Robotam, Sai, Zerlina, MooseTroop11, ect. Newbies may post a sprite, but odds are I won't use it.

ACE! I expect a sprite from you. Your character should be easy to make. Do it.

I do but it messes up the colours. That's why I use UP for 256.
