Also, you guys are such whiners.  All Charas has done for like the past 2 years has complained about going downhill. Its getting really really old.  Not to mention, NO ONE besides ZKX, Meiscool, and maybe Archem can take a joke without pissing his pants on this forum.  Every fun topic that opens gets ruined because these strict mods scream "SPAM."  This forum needs to LIGHTEN THE **** UP.  Hell, you people even CENSOR CURSE WORDS.  We're not some ****ing daycare here.

See, a post like this on the forums I mentioned would almost be enough to get you banned. I can take a joke, what I can't stand though is people like this, who think that just because I only spoke to them on one thread means I haven't seen posts in other threads. As for censoring curse words, I'm 100% for that. On most forums, there is no swear filter. Occasionally a mod will pop up and fix a post riddled with swears, but it is generally assumed that people will understand that younger children may be reading these forums and stuff like that can mess these kids up.
And, Rev911, It's not the internet that needs a better sense of humor, it's you.
EDIT: I'm not just talking about Rev in this post, I'm talking about 45% of the people on forums that I've been to. Just because I quoted him as an example doesn't mean a thing.

Back on topic, a couple ideas for the numbers on the system:
1=Something small, like maybe unintentional spam or a single, not-too-aggressive flame and such.
2=Either a double offense in the "1" category, or an intentional spam and the like.
The later numbers would be more of the same.

1: We don't need a 1-10 system. We don't need to be more strict, we need to be more FUN. That would be a step backwards, I think.

2: If what Rev said was enough to get him banned then I would leave this forum. You've earned quite a reputation for overreacting, Roland. Honestly you need to stop taking things so personally on the internet.

3: Spam forum sounds like a fairly good idea, so long as it doesn't replace other forums such as all of all for people's attention.

4: These threads make me depressed. Why didn't you bring these points up in the Charas 3.0 thing? Nevertheless I guess we need to talk about it.

Charas has not gone downhill, it has not gone uphill, Charas has remained stagnant.  Sure, some old members drift away while new members drift in to replace them, but Charas isn't doing much.

Charas no longer has a focus on RPG Maker, it consists of primarily All of All topics, which are totally unrelated, as well as Forum Gaming topics, which are again not related.

When I joined (Early 2004), Charas was way more focused on game making.  People routinely were posting game threads and commenting on them.  Sure, the games might not have been spectacular, but they were the focus.  There was also attention on resources, which makes sense as Charas evolved from the Charset Generator.  There were even generator contests.

Now, this change did not happen recently.  It occured around the time when the majority of the old (2003) members started to leave.  This left Charas in a state of nothingness.

So, in my opinion, we should have more support for Games and Game making, and we should perhaps focus slightly more on resouces.

As a final note, anyone who thinks Charas is on the path of destruction or is going downhill is overreacting.  Charas is not moving up or down any hill.

EDIT: You know how we always say that we shouldn't do newcomer's requests because they just take the sprite and leave?  Well, we never seem to fulfil their requests, so how should we know this?  Perhaps they are leaving because they do not get any support and only get people saying that they are not good enough (need to get poplarity first).

Where the hell do you conjure the balls to even post in a thread like this.  Second off, you completely ignore the fact that two other members were actually INSULTING YOU in the thread.  Yet you choose to try and point me out for making a sarcastic remark, telling you to go join a chess forum.

Exactly.  But he hasnt. The most offensive thing I've said lately was in the MrMr goodbye thread where I called someone annoying. Literally. 99% of my posts are "lol" and "sweet."
