I picked charas, but i think most of the choices would be pretty fun. Too bad i don't have an RPG Maker. Maybe if i get better at python i can make a segment (if i correctly understand what a chaingame is)

FFL was kind enough to fix the poll issue. So you can now retake the votes and vote again.
Problem solved.

Btw, is anyone having trouble seeing spoiler boxes? 'cuz I put all the descriptions in spoiler boxes.

a better idea of steampunk can be found by googling STEAMPUNK MAGAZINE

no offense prpl, but your description is a bit weak.

More ideas of SP

The anime Steamboy is a good reference

Basically, look at cyberpunk.
Now replace the future and cyber aspects of it, with "industrial revolution era" and "Steam powered machines"
In steampunk there is an abundance of large, steam-powered machines that sometimes perform silly little tasks (Back to the future 3, docs Ice machine for instance) or awesome flying zepplins, or mechanical monsgtrosities powere by steam and coal. Generally, people conduct themselves in an old fasioned manner, using proper victorian english, but many of the player achetypes found in cyberpunk are present. You still have your whores, and assholes, and outcasts, and tyrants. Everyone seems to wear some sort of mechanical apparatus, sometimes goggles, sometimes robotic body parts. Most of the more recent RPGs fro FF6 onward have adopted some aspect of steampunk into their visual imagry. Youll see a lot of clock gears and intricate machines. Everything from crono-trigger to FF1 to WoW has stolen some of its best materials from steampunk. Because is ****ing badass as hell.
My discription is poor and sloppy. DO yourself a favour and at least image search some steampunk stuff. there are groups of people who as a hobby craft things like Steampunk PCs, Cars, Watches, Clothing and other awesome stuff. Steampunk taxidermy is rad too.

I think that steampunk would be both restricting and somewhat arbitrary in this context. It's just not open enough for everyone to make very unique contributions.

That isn't to say that elements of steampunk can't be worked into the other themes, or that it isn't awesome. I just don't think it would hold up as the root theme.

EDIT: Also, purp, the central point of steampunk is that the technology does surpass that of the 1930's, but with the same visual and mechanical themes, e.g. steam powered planes and the like.

Thank you Gemini and Red Giant, I was hoping someone like yourselves would come by and explain what I can't.
I put it on the first page as well.

Like Red Giant, I'm concerned steampunk is a little too niche. But I'm down with whatever.

I seem to remember some kind of Japanese artist who made steampunk or steampunk-esque RM2K material. Pretty sure the old Svatopluk site linked to his stuff, but I just looked through it with the Wayback Machine, and I can't seem to find anything. Doesn't help that the WBM is a little iffy about images.

I found a site with all the old Teddy-Plaza 1920's chipset pieces, many of which could come in handy in a steampunk setting. They're very high quality, which means I'm sure they'll clash with ripped material though:

Sounds a little like what NFT was. (I didn't release it, don't listen to Lucas' lies.)

Steampunk it is for me, then.

I would like a Charas game. What would be the plot exactly?

I wasn't sure what Steampunk was, but now it seems very interesting.
I wouldn't work on the game, though, but I'd like to see it.

So I'd change my vote for Steampunk.

I have changed my vote to steam punk as well. The animated movie "Steam Boy" was an absolutly awesome movie. And I do really really enjoy the thought of airships, very old-school.

There was a game once called Aftermath that was very promising but the maker cut it short.
